"I Kissed a Girl," which was produced by in-demand hitmaker Dr. Luke (Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne), is the lead-off single from Katy's debut album, One of the Boys. A witty, pop-rock gem that showcases Katy's sharp, candid lyrics, big voice, and feisty, girl-power swagger, as well as her appealing vulnerability, One of the Boys is the full-length follow-up to her debut digital EP, Ur So Gay, which has already earned the 23-year-old Santa Barbara, CA, native a legion of devoted fans. Those fans include the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna, who gave Katy shout-outs on two morning radio shows, calling "Ur So Gay" her "favorite song."

One of the Boys is a good album, but Katy's second album Teenage Dream is my favorite.

With humorous tracks like Ur So Gay, I Kissed A Girl, and Waking Up In Vegas, you'll find yourself replaying these hits and singing along in no time. Thinking Of You is a song that will make you feel like you have just ripped your heart out, where as One Of The Boys will have you relating to the lyrics. Her music is infectious and real, so just go and get a copy of the CD already.

All I have to say is wow. Katy Perry truly is the definition of girl power. You can tell she couldn't care what anyone thinks, from "I Kissed A Girl" to "Ur So Gay". Her uniqueness and rebelliousness can be heard on her CD, "One of the Boys", with a cool techno, rock, pop feel going on. Recommended, yes, but if you're narrow-minded, find another CD dude!

When I heard katy perrys song on the radio "Hot N Cold" I really wanted to get this album to see what it would be like. I think that katy perry made a good album with fun songs to dance and sing and listen to. I like the song one of the boys, I kissed a girl is not such a girl song, it should be I kissed a boy, waking up in vegas is one of my favorites, I really like the song thinking of you, that is a good song with a good meaning, mannequin is a good song too! ur so gay I didn't care for because the meaning of the song was bad, hot n cold I would have to say is one of my favorites too, if you can afford me is a cool song! I like self inflicted, and finger prints, the only thing I didn't like about this album is the cuss words are used a lot but over all katy perry did a good job! :-)

This album just takes one listen to love. I took a chance on another one hit wonder, and it turns out that I fell in love with her! A daughter of two preachers CAN do something productive with her life! The whole album is simply put: entertainingly awesome. It starts out with a track called 'just one of the boys' (of which I can relate to tremedously) and just gets better from there with the hit track 'I kissed a girl' and so on.

Katy Perry's "One of the Boys" is primarily a fun CD with good poppy beats, but also has a few, somewhat more profound tracks. I would mostly describe the CD as fun, but "Thinking of You" and a few other tracks are surprisingly tender.

I agree with many other reviewers, Katy Perry is being overly-judged. Although she has many cursing words in her songs, how can you go against that? It's part of human nature to cuss without knowing it. Katy Perry's single, &quot I Kissed A Girl&quot might seem inappropriate to some people, but I truly think it shows how determined this new rock pop star is to be a big hit. She shows her wild side in all of her tracks and she also has a sense of humor in her lyrics. She shows that she won't let anyone put her down all because she sings, &quot I kissed a girl, and I liked it, I liked it&quot . I, personally, find artists and celebrities who are a mature wild silly and will have actions outside of the box the best. But you can't compare Katy Perry to heiress, Paris Hilton or Britney Spears. She's more mature than that, and I believe she knows how far she can go. I rate her album, &quot One of The Boys&quot as a 4-star recommended because the lyrics are good, but not the best. She can continuously repeat the same thing over and over in her songs but she has a great, powerful voice that can hardly get on your nerves, and her songs are full of meaning even, &quot Ur So Gay&quot .

Great CD. Some fun stuff on it. It is not the job of an artist to be our children's role model. If you have to explain to a teenager that there are people who like people of the same sex I'd say you have bigger issues to worry about, like moving out from under that rock. If she asks if she should like girls instead of boys perhaps the only answer you should have given her is: I'll love you no matter who you love!

i thought that it was fantastic there was no problems at all so i would recomend getting this cd its the best ever and if they ship it to you its safe and sound in there and its just ya i love it a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but the bad thing about it is that it has bad words so is it good or bad?

Katy Perry is truly talented, and this is worth every penny. I'd heard all the songs before but I bought it anyway. It's still good. =]

I Like Katy Perry because i heard her songs while i was driving to work. While I was at work It's one of those songs that I find myself singing out loud to without realizing it. Or at the traffic light with all the windows down and jamming out to it. literally. I chose to get this on Vinyl L.P. though because not only do I collect vinyl records but there is a noticeable difference in the sound. It's far more superior than it is on C.D. or M.P.3. On vinyl the tones are higher and the bass is lower and warmer and richer. Like you are right there Live in concert with her. it's awesome. Plus you get bonus material and the vinyls different colored.

I've heard people commenting that this is not a good influence on younger listeners. To be fair neither is Disturbed or Brittany Spears......That is why they are played on pop stations that don't pander to young ones like the Disney station does. There is no comparison from Katy Perry to Hannah Montana, just like there is no comparison between Barney and Madonna, totally different groups that they are aimed at. Now I'm not saying that a child that is enjoying Aly and AJ would also enjoy Barney (even Barney would be too immature) but you have to keep in mind that these songs aren't aimed at children. If you are worried about influence worry about Barbie dolls or Miley Cyrus posing bare-backed at the age of 15 (ok, I don't see a huge deal with that, but many parents do) Bottom line- this CD is fun, enjoyable and well worth the purchase price. Great music to pop on and clean to or drive around town.
