It was just recently that I embarked into the wonderful world of paper folding- namely origami. My first purchase in this area was a kit by Michael G LaFlosse, published by Tuttle, entitled Classic Origami. Due to the fact that I found this kit very helpful, fun, and informative, and also that my paper was running low, I decided to purchase another by the same person. It was a hard decision between the Animal Origami Kit or the Flower Origami Kit, but I finally went with the Flower one because it seemed that the animal one already had many origami folds I already knew. I was very excited as I opened it and prepared to learn new and interesting origami folds. The books were, as expected, very attractive, and set up in an informative and fun way. The origami paper was beautiful, including a few gold foil sheets, patterned sheets, and the usual solid colors. There were a couple things I found disappointing. First off, most of these flowers have to be put together with glue, which put a damper on the supposedly "paper folding only" craft. Second off, some of the instructions were rather hard to comprehend, which was okay, but still was disappointing. Overall I really enjoyed this kit, but still have a hard time on deciding ,if I could do it over again, and had all the info on the kit I do now,if I would purchase this kit or go for the animal one or a different one entirely. But, just the same, my purchase was satisfactory, and I suppose I would recommend it to ones who don't mind the glue issue!
