Based on the first of a series of bestselling novels, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is set in a modern world where the 12 gods of Mount Olympus (perched 600 stories above the planet on New York's landmark Empire State Building) are alive and creating a new race of young heroes who are demigods -- half mortal, half god. Percy, the teenage son of Poseidon, is suspected by Zeus of stealing his lightning bolt, the universe's most powerful weapon. To prove his innocence and avoid a devastating war among the gods, Percy embarks on a transcontinental odyssey to find the real thief. The film is directed by Chris Columbus, and the score was composed by Christophe Beck, who won an Emmy for his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Beck has scored numerous films, including The Pink Panther, I Love You Beth Cooper, and Under the Tuscan Sun.

I like this book because it has a lot of action. In addition it's about god's and imortal's which is my favorite kinds of book's. also Percy goes through harsh moment's and still survives. For example when he had to fight the bull man and it killed his mother. Thus people should read this book if there interested in action, thriller, or adventure book's.

Oh no! The Greek gods are going to have a fight and they are going to use the earth as the battle field. Twelve year old Percy Jackson is the only one who can save them. Weird things are happening to Percy Jackson. Sally Jackson (Percy's mom) finally takes him to a camp called Camp Half-Blood where Percy finds he is son of Poseidon. Percy's friend Grover (After a long hiding) he has goat legs and he is called a satyr. Percy meets a girl named Annabeth at camp. Then Zeus accuses Percy stealing his master Bolt. In this book they go to places like a water bed store or the St. Louis arch and the Los Vegas Lotus Casino to try to find the bolt. So will they ever find the bolt? Find out in Percy Jackson and the Olympians the Lightning Thief. I recommend this book to 3rd graders and up.
