Oh, I love this series! This one is about Duke and True and takes place in two parts. The first part Duke is at loose ends, his life is falling apart and he is divorcing his wife and trying to keep his company intact, a company he never wanted to be the CEO of. It is while surfing he meets True and his life changes. She is the one, the ONE for him. True has graduated from college and trying to decide whether to start her teaching career in Arizona or in North Carolina where her parents are. After meeting Duke and spending time with him, it seems her future is destined to be in North Carolina, that is until Duke's wife drops a bombshell. Fast forward ten years and Duke is miserable, he is a single father of a ten-year-old daughter and just floating through life. We have been watching him in the previous two books and he has been the "grumpy" older brother and now we know why. True sneaks back into town to hopefully close her parents home and sneak back out but Duke has other plans. He has never forgotten her and wants her back. True is happy in Arizona but could she also be happy in North Carolina? Are the sparks still there? Oh, these two definitely still have chemistry and this was a great read. I definitely recommend this one! **Received this ARC for review**

This read was a bit different for me than other books I’ve read. It took me a long time to get in to it.... like weeks. So I came back to read the blurb, and was reminded there was a 10 year later section. I skipped a bit of the book to that part, and was sucked in immediately. I don’t feel I missed much in the parts of the book I hadn’t read (I may go back and read that part eventually) but I honestly feel this book would’ve been so much better set in the 10 years later part, with flashbacks to certain times in the first half of the book. I felt so much more connected to True and Duke in the second part of the book. Their characters were awesome, and I loved how hard Duke was willing to fight for True. There were moments that completely gutted me, and have me dying to read the next book releasing in this series. An overall good read, that I would recommend.

I absolutely loved Picture Perfect Summer! It is the third book in Marquita Valentine's Kings of Castle Beach series. Marquita captured my heart and did not let go. I love the world she has created in this series. I laughed, cried, felt giddy and wanted to throat punch some characters for their actions. (Not many, but gahhh you will understand if you read it... and only for brief moments.) I love how Duke and True's story started years ago and that love truly conquers all. I loved their combustible chemistry, their stubbornness and their ability to love completely. I have to admit I loved Duke and Laird's relationship. But this story also gave us a great preview to Laird and Ophelia's story, which I hope is released very very soon. I can't wait to read more from the Kings of Castle Beach! Well Done Marquita!

OH MY!! Words fail to describe how much I loved Duke and True’s second chance story in Picture Perfect Summer by Marquita Valentine, book three in her The Kings of Castle Beach series. There are two parts to this story, ten years apart, both during the summer. True met Duke because of a dare, but once she started seeing him she was a goner. He was only supposed to be a summer fling instead she fell in love with him. Duke felt the same love for True and did not want her to leave at the end of summer. However, when his pregnant wife, from who he was separated, enters the picture True cannot stand by and watch them together. Instead, she leaves Castle Beach, and Duke, for good. Fast forward ten years when True returns to prepare her parent’s house for sale and sever any remaining memories she might have of Duke and that summer. However, once Duke discovers she is in town, all bets are off. He has never forgotten True, his soul mate, his one true love and is determined to pull out all the stops to woo her and fight for her, making her fall in love with him again. This sexy, single dad will even use his ten-year old daughter to help convince True she belonged with them, as a family. True has never forgotten or stopped loving Duke, judging all other men against him as a standard. I loved how ten years time did not change the characters. Duke, being the eldest King, was overburdened with expectations and responsibilities for his family and the family business. True still struggled with saying no, especially to her parents and herself. Duke’s ex-wife, although married to another, still tried to assert herself between True and Duke. Memories of the time spent that first summer with Laird, who is missing at sea, and Ophelia, return making them stronger rather than weaker. Ms. Valentine wrote an amazing and moving story that is definitely not to be missed. It had me laughing, crying and everything in between. This story is filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

4.5 Stars I'm so in love with this series. This a second chance romance. I gobbled this book right up right away. It's shows their past then present day. Their story really gets you in the heart. The timing is always off, but can they grab a hold of the second chance with both hands. This series and this book packs in the heart and feels. I loved the characters so much especially True. She a favorite for sure! I loved the epilogue so much. It was the prefect way to end True and Duke's story because it the essence of them through the book. Plus watching them after to see where their journey has led them made my heart happy. Also the very last part had me screaming YES! I really can't wait for the next book.

What would the picture perfect summer look like for you? For True Prince, it starts with a challenge. And ends with a broken heart. When challenged by her best friend to flirt with a handsome surfer, she ends up in the arms of Duke King. With a bruise on her leg and an invitation to dinner. From there, we have the cliché of the perfect novel. They fall in love and everything is amasing until reality knocks on the door. And it has a name: Laken King. Duke is having a hard time. The eldest son of the King’s family has to deal with his father's recent suicide, which destroys his family, a brother who has become a drunk, a business on the verge of bankruptcy, an unfinished divorce with an unfaithful wife and a thirteen years old brother who needs a father figure. How about adding an unexpected fatherhood to the mix? Misunderstandings, fates of destiny, insecurities, evil, selfishness, honor and family. Everything seems to collide and ward off the couple. And ten years after all these events, Duke hopes to bring sunshine back into his life. There's no way you can not cheer for the couple. They are cute, funny, passionate and enthralling. They go through a lot, are victims of the wickedness of an ex-wife, of the circumstances and also of their own choices. True and her excess of kindness can annoy you at times. Always put others ahead of her happiness, it may not make sense after ten years. An exciting, funny story with a hint of drama. True and River's relationship, True's maturation and her courage in confronting Laken provide some relief. Read more about River, Laird and Ophelia, which appear in the previous books of the series, makes the reading even more valid and makes you wish for a miracle. And Thank You, Marquita. The miracle is coming.

I loved True and Duke's story! This series is full of feels! True was exactly what Duke needed, exactly when he needed it in his life! Unfortunately, things didn't work out the first time around. But Duke is determined that he will get the girl when she comes back to town ten years later. And when a King makes up their mind, they will move heaven and earth to make it happen. Can't wait to see which brother gets the next book in the series. Because I will definitely be reading it.

The summer they spent together had been magical, and so unexpected, but then his soon to be ex-wife dropped a bombshell in their laps, and that's when True decided her future was not in North Carolina. So she packed her bags, and never looked back. Ten years have since passed since that summer, and True now finds herself returning to a place that holds so many fond memories... and a few hurtful ones too. She's hoping she can sell off her parents beach side home and quietly sneak back out of town unnoticed, but when Duke shows up on her doorstep she knows that is no longer a possibility. He is armed with an apology and a plan, one that he hopes will convince her to stay this time... but can she really do that? Picture Perfect Summer brings readers a heartfelt reunion story full of emotion, heat, and romance. The pages of this one held lots of heartache, I couldn't help but feel for these two and the unique and tough situation they found themselves in. If any couple deserved a second chance at things it was them, and boy did they make the most of it! I am new to this series, so at times I felt like I was missing a few very minor details, but I wouldn't say that it effected my overall feelings about the story. If anything it just made me more curious about all the secondary characters, especially Laird! If you are looking for a captivating tale that's good on the heart, then I highly suggest you give this one a chance, it does not disappoint! I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Love really does conquer all! Picture Perfect Summer is book 3 in the ‘Kings of Castle Beach’ by Marquita Valentine. Here we get the oldest brother, Duke’s story. Duke runs the family business. He’s the one that makes sure they all stay together and wants nothing more than to keep everyone safe from harm. They’ve had enough tragedy and don’t need anymore. Even he feels like he lost something once. Well, he knows he did. Not something, but someone.he let True slip through his fingers ten years ago and eventually moved on with his life. It meant wasn’t to be then. He wasn’t available and well… things happened and now she’s back. True only came back to Castle Beach to get her parents home tidied before she sells it and leaves once more. She doesn’t want to see Duke, but he makes it impossible to avoid him. He’s still in love and has no intention of losing her again. I felt the validity of Duke’s feeling all the way down to my core. He might have been in the wrong before, but he’s a free man now and he’s going to fight. Hard and dirty if he has to. This is a man with no doubts in his mind. True is his. She’s always been his, and always will be.

The Kings of Castle Beach is a great series. Valentine drew me in with haunting romance and tempting delight. Picture Perfect Summer is a tale of two lonely hearts. Duke and True meet by chance and tumble into love. When life gets in the way of their happy ending, can the hands of fate and the sands of time help them find their way back to each other? Love is not always pretty, but if you can survive the pain, the experience is a rewarding one. True and Duke prove there is beauty to be found from heartache.
