Plain and Simple is a plain and simple novel about law enforcement in Pueblo, Colorado. Jerico Magee, a homicide detective, is appointed sheriff following the death of the previous incumbent. Magee takes over a department in sad shape and enlists the help of his Chief Deputy Penny Booker. Magee and Booker make a good team as they investigate homicides, corruption and battle the mob, staying one step ahead of an assassin.

Author Bio: Robert Bailey was born in 1938 in Central Nebraska. He grew up during the depression and World War II, was in high school in the fifties and married in the sixties. He has been married for 39 years and has three children and three grandchildren. He has worked for more than 45 years in public service, including a policeman, deputy sheriff and currently is City Manager of a small city in Iowa.
