The Reign of Law first appeared as an article in the magazine Good Words containing an argument about beauty in nature, as well as the author's thoughts on the supernatural, politics, and creation. His was only the latest statement at the time of a common argument against Darwin’s theory.
About the Author
George John Douglas Campbell (1823 –1900) was a Scottish peer—the 8th Duke of Argyll. A Liberal politician as well as a writer on science, religion, and the politics, he was a leader in the scholarly opposition to Darwinism.
