I just saw Duffy on SNL. I thought she was outstanding and so was her band. I had never listened to her music before. I logged on to this site and previewed the cd. I will be at B &amp N as soon as it opens tomorrow. Don't sleep on this one.

I am a new fan after hearing the song "Mercy" while shopping in the mall, I had to track down who was singing that song. The whole cd is fabulous. She is so soulful and reminds me a little of Dusty Springfield. It is impossible to be still when you are listening to the song "Mercy", even while in the car.

This is a soulful and unique album. The ballads are both tender and sexy. Duffy's voice is beautiful as always. My favorite songs are: "Rockferry", "Syrup and Honey", "Distant Dreamer", "Warwick Avenue" and "Mercy".

I bought this album randomly in the mall (where I work) and was excited that it was only $9.99 (the cheapest CD that I've found in the mall to date). I listened to it once and fell in love with it instantly. I havent taken it out of my CD player since I bought it, and that was over a month ago! I've seen people compare Duffy to Amy Winehouse, but if you ask me, Duffy is WAY more talented and more entertaining than Amy (save Amy's drunken stupers you get to read about on USA Today).

I hear it all the time i like the groove she brings.

WOW! This album is the best of the year so far! She has such a great retro soul sound to her. I like how she co wrote all the songs. A great talent and I can't wait for the next album! It's well worth the money!

I only liked one song in the whole album. With so much postive feed back on the this website and on television I thought it would have been out of this world. I was truly disappointed.

Saw her on late night TV. Checked her out online. Bought the album and managed to catch her live in Chicago. She's great live as well. Sorta like Macy Gray meets Amy Winehouse music.

I had this album when it was first released and had it "stolen" from me by someone I recommended it to. So I got an itch to listen to it again, so I purchased it AGAIN---and AGAIN, I was blown away. This is not, by any stretch of the imagination, my kind of music but I loved every single second of it. Duffy is so extremely soultry, it makes my heart ache. This album is timeless and undeniably awesome.

I can listen to this all day. Not one bad song. Great in the background or even as the main course!

I think this is a pretty good album, I've listened to it off and on over the course of several days, and I like the old school sixties feel of the music. My favorite is the last song, "Distant Dreamer", as it just reminds me of the "Wall of Sound" that Phil Spector did so well. I would say that Duffy's music is comparable to Amy's sound but less harsh, smoother and more consistant. "Warwick Avenue" is perfectly spare and easy, also a very good song! All very enjoyable.

Who is this girl? I am 56 years old and was exposed to the soul music of the 60's so I have a soft spot for soul. This album, in my opinion, is the best of the english neo soul movement that includes Joss Stone and Amy Winehouse. Both of those girls have some good music but their albums do not have the beginning to end attraction of this one. I like it better with each listen. Great vocals, decent lyrics, strong beats. Good music. Duffy herself "vocally" reminds me a bit of Dusty Springfield. All in all this is the best new album I have listened to this year. Great pop music.

Duffy is one of my favorite CD's. I especially love the song, "Mercy"... it just gets you moving and singing. I like the uniqueness of her voice and music. I highly recommend this disc.

Duffy's voice is perfectly attuned to the CD's song selection that are reminiscent of music from the 50's. It is a delight to listen to, and makes my current top favorites playlist.

A great throwback album. Makes you want to get out of your seat and do the twist when you here Mercy. All the other songs are really deep, and you can feel the emotion in the words.

A friend recommended this CD, but I didn't think I was going to like it. It was quite the surprise! I really like her bluesy voice, the beat of the music. The first song I heard was "Mercy", and I thought it was like a 60s remake or something. I loved it! Everyone should buy this one!

I just got this CD a few weeks ago and still love it. It's really fantastic. I am glad to see that she is making a name for herself. Great style and lovely songs. I also bought the soundtrack from The Cockettes and love it too.

Aimee Duffy has a voice reminiscent of Petula Clark or Lulu but with a Motown twist. While the lyrics on this album are a simple, she is young and has made an impressive debut. The production and Aimee's voice make this release a sea-change in the usual television mediocrity. This talent has the 'chops' and great production and backing to go far, look for a great talent blooming here!

I don't think the songs on this album are out of this world, but they are pretty darn good. I don't like Amy Winehouse at all, but to make a comparison, Duffy is like Amy Winehouse without the crack which in my opinion makes it worth a listen.
