I love this Christmas story. It was everything that the Dog Father wanted except his wife. It will make you cry, smile and love your family even more. I can’t wait for the next book.

I love Roxanne St. Claire’s Dogfather Series and this short Christmas novella is no different. It’s a sweet story about family, love and togetherness for the season. Little Jack Frost, a Jack Russell terrier, is a new rescue to the Waterford Farm, a dog training and rescue operation run by the Kilcannon family in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Readers of the first books in the series will be familiar with Daniel Kilcannon and his grown children who all reside nearby and work for the Farm, each with their own speciality for the care and training of the four-legged furry inhabitants. The only one not there is Aiden, who’s been deployed overseas. Daniel, a veterinarian also known as The Dogfather, is dreading Christmas. It was his deceased wife’s favorite time of the year. She’s been gone three years and he does his best to make it through the season for the sake of his kids. This year, Jack Frost is feared lost on Christmas Eve and everyone sets out to look for him. After hours of trying to find him in the dark, the family returns to the house wondering if they’ll ever see him again. What happens next is the reason for the season and the reason I recommend it for anyone looking for a quick, enjoyable heart-warming read for the holiday. 4.5 stars

Roxanne St. Claire never fails to deliver both the smiles and the tears. Her short holiday story, Santa Paws is Coming to Town is no exception. This short look at Christmas at Waterford farm will delight even the biggest Scrooge. I definitely wanted it to be longer, there were places I wanted to know more, but as it stands, it is the perfect hot cocoa escape from the holiday madness.

This novella is the perfect addition to the Dogfather series. It's full of heart, warm tugs at your heartstrings and even plenty of happy tears at the end. Anyone who has ever loved and lost can relate to Daniel's feelings around the holidays and if you're a parent you can also understand pasting a happy smile on your face and going through the motions. But when Daniel's children conspire against him to bring him the only gift that can make his Christmas holiday perfect, you'll smile (and maybe even cry) right along with him.

Roxanne St. Claire has delivered the best early Christmas gift. I loved the novella. Was so sad that it was only a novella, and therefore too short. The novella takes place on Christmas Eve at the Kilcannon Family home at Waterford Farms. As all the Kilcannons and the extended family arrive to celebrate Christmas Eve, a new rescue puppy, “Jack Frost”, goes missing while getting groomed by Darla. Everyone breaks off in pairs and goes off in search of Jack Frost. Molly and Prudence share a bittersweet moment when Pru asks about her father as they search for the puppy. Liam and Andi discuss baby names and dream of their future home at Waterford Farms. Shane and Chloe and Garrett and Jessie all dream about their futures. Unfortunately, no one finds Jack Frost. Daniel is very worried about the puppy in the cold and becomes very melancholy. He misses Anne so much at Christmas, it was her favorite holiday and he tries to keep all of her traditions alive for his family. Jack Frost is eventually found by a surprise guest that most knew about, except for Daniel. It was a wonderful ending, with lots of tears! Cannot wait for Molly’s story, “Bad to the Bone”.

A miracle at Christmas for the Kilcannon Family. A wonderful Christmas novella. Highly recommend that anyone who has not yet read any of the other books in this series do so asap! As some other reviewers said, do not let the shortness of this novella (52 pages) deter you, because Roxanne St. Claire packs a lot of emotion in all her stories so you feel like you've read a much lengthier book. Daniel is feeling much sadness this Christmas without his beloved Annie. As the family gathers together to celebrate Christmas Eve, a recent rescue pup escapes, sending the Kilcannon family searching. Didn't expect the ending - have tissue handy. It's Christmas and it's the Kilcannon family, so miracles are bound to happen. You won't be disappointed.

Have been a fan of Roxanne St. Claire for what seems like forever, but her Dogfather series is the group of series that speaks to me the most. Family, faith and friendship band together to touch the heart and make me smile. Whether two legged or four legged, we all deserve a second chance to make our mark on the world and find where we belong. Santa Paws is Coming to Town is a reminder to count life's blessings. Love, life and laughter create rewarding and lasting memories. Storytelling at it's finest.

The Dogfather gets topped in this warm, rich and rollicking tale. But how it happens and who is involved is the most fun surprise! This family...sigh..

I love the Kilcannon family. The family has a surprise for the Dogfather. On Christmas Eve, a dog is lost and the family is trying to find the little guy. At the end of the night, there is a big surprise.

This is a wonderful sweet story of family, love, and facing the holidays without a couple of their loved ones but with some new additions to the Kilcannon clan. Daniel Kilcannon is trying to put on a happy face for his family while missing his wife terribly. Adding to his sadness is the fact that one of his sons won't be home with him this Christmas. As always with this family it's a little dog that pulls them together and helps to distract from any sadness. A great story that should be on everyone's holiday reading list. I highly recommend it.

Oh my goodness!! What a wonderful novella Roxanne St.Claire wrote with Santa Paws is Coming to Town, A Dogfather Short Tail, story 3.5 in her Dogfather series. Daniel, the patriarch and Dogfather himself, was struggling facing another Christmas without his beloved wife. He tried to hide these feelings, but those who knew him best saw through his mask. He needed a miracle to help shake him up. I loved how the Kilcannon children came together to “search” for a lost pup who arrived earlier in the day at the Waterford Farm and even Gramma Finnie’s willingness to change up their traditions for Christmas eve in order to keep secret a Christmas miracle that will bring joy and happiness to Daniel. I truly loved reading this short story. Ms. St. Claire is a wonderful story teller and she seems to always draw me into her books, making me forget the world around me. I highly recommend this book to other readers and am looking forward to the next entry in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

The Dogfather series is one of my favorite ever from Roxanne St. Claire. It has family, sexy men, smart women, laugh out loud humor, as well as pulling so many other emotions from me. Santa Paws is Coming to Town is the perfect Christmas gift for fans of the series. I love getting to spend time with Daniel Kilcannon, The Dogfather himself, and he gets lots of page time in Santa Paws is Coming to Town. I love how much he still loves and misses his wife Annie, even as he tries to hide it from his family. I love that his mom, Gramma Finnie calls him out at the very beginning about his sadness and his whole family works to help him find a reason to be happy this year. I both laughed and cried reading this short story and enjoyed each and every minute of my reading. We got to reconnect with the Kilcannon kids and grandkids and even got to meet Daniel's sister and her family. Santa Paws is Coming to Town is a heartwarming story that will grab you from the very first page. I highly recommend reading the first 3 books in the series first to better understand the dynamics of the family, and promise you will be hooked from the very first book. Santa Paws is Coming to Town is another winner from Rocki and I can't wait to re-read it over the holidays. Rating: 5 Stars (A) Review copy provided by publisher

This is an adorable addition to this fabulous series. I devoured this in one sitting (with strangers around) and it was like having old friends join you for coffee and catching up. Christmas Eve and some traditions are meant to be kept and some are meant to be shared and others are meant to be expanded upon and this one was meant to be treasured. All the feels and so much joy. Definitely a keeper! Yea, I'm not going to tell you what happens at all in this one :) Just make sure you have a tissue at the end because it will bring you tears of joy! **Received this ARC for review**

What a fun addition to this enjoyable series. This quick read takes place on Christmas Eve and includes all the Kilcannon family members. Daniel "The Dogfather" Kilcannon is really missing his deceased wife and is reflecting back on the holiday and how it was his Annie's favorite. This story brings together memories, old and new and even a few fun surprises! Great Christmas read!
