Save the Date is the perfect summer read! Readers who enjoy travel, fake relationships, second chance romances, and books that revolve around weddings are not going to want to miss Monica's latest novel! I savored this novel- like a fine macaroon! I read it in one sitting as well. It's a lighthearted read with an excellent cast of characters and an engaging story line. Monica Murphy can write a diverse number of books- romances, young adult thrillers, and YA romances which is why I am always coming back for more! Save the Date falls in the romance category (maybe even chick lit) and has everything it needs: a cute relationship (brother's best friend from middle school, and second chances), character growth (Alex finally realized what LOVE is about), and a little bit of sexy times (not too much, just enough to see that the two were compatible). It's an all around wonderful book. Caroline and Alex were very sweet together. It was quickly apparent that their feelings for one another never fully went away even though they haven't seen each other since they were kids. Their first meeting at the coffee shop proves this and the spark between them FLEW off the pages. Gosh, I smiled so much. There may have been a few things standing in their way at that time (namely, his fiance Tiffany *gasp*) but the hurdles were overcome (even if a little drama played out). Don't worry! This is NOT a love triangle and there is NO cheating (view spoiler). But there is a bit of drama that needs to be overcome prior to the HEA. Monica Murphy also adds a bit of a fake relationship trope into this one. Alex needs a woman on his arm in order to secure a deal in Paris for a hotel his family wants to buy and his old pal Caroline is happy to accompany him. Too bad one fashion icon see's through the facade and causes a little trouble of her own... You want to know what happens you will have to read Save the Date to find out! Overall, I adored this book to pieces! As I mentioned, Monica Murphy can write in just about any genre and still engage all her readers. This is not different with Save the Date and I enthusiastically read this one with a BIG smile on my face. I highly recommend it!

Monica Murphy is a new author to me and after reading Save The Date I will definitely be reading her other works when time permits. I really liked Caroline Abbott, she is someone that I could easily be friends with. Working at Noteworthy she specializes in Save The Date and wedding invitations meaning she deals with a variety of brides. Caroline is shocked when her latest bride’s fiancee turns out to be someone Caroline once knew, Alexander Wilder. Alex was the first boy Caroline ever kissed and has always held a special place in her heart. After discovering his fiancee has been cheating, Alex calls the wedding off and instead embarks on a journey of self discovery with Caroline. Alex is most certainly swoon worthy and I loved the slow burn of the relationship as it built with Caroline. Caroline’s friends were awesome and just as quirky as her. I really loved how supportive they were. This is a sweet, romantic, second chance at love story that ticked the boxes for me. Extremely well written this story will take you on a fabulous journey that will leave you with a smile on your face.

Caroline and Alex are surprised to see each other after 14 years with no contact. They were each other's first kiss and Alex and his family moved away right after. Caroline is helping Alex and his fiance', Tiffany, select their save the date cards. Tiffany is a nightmare and Caroline does not handle her well at all. Tiffany quickly realizes that she can push Caroline around and that causing a scene will cause Caroline to become uncomfortable and embarrassed. Alex is unaware of Tiffany causing Caroline distress. When a situation arises where Caroline has to give Alex some much needed information, she almost backs out because she is afraid of Tiffany's reaction. I am not a fan of someone who will hide from someone just because they are confrontational. She is in a business that makes her deal with customers face-to-face. Her allowing Tiffany to terrorize her was just not understandable to me. When Alex then needs Caroline to do a favor for him, she agrees but then second guesses her decision almost the whole time. I never really felt a connection between the 2 of them, especially since the book tried to be a rom/com and sisterhood book at the same time. I didn't really feel any connection between any of the characters. I thought the premise itself was a good one, just didn't quite feel I was able to connect with it at the end.

Save The Date by Monica Murphy is the first book in her brand new Dating series. A quirky heroine and a swoony hero make this story of a fake relationship very relatable. Caroline is a woman who stays true to what she believes and Alex is a man that seems to go around with blinders on until Caroline. Throw in a cheating fiancée and bridezilla, a tip to Paris and a business deal and this story keeps you captivated with the romance between these two "fake" lovers. With swoon-worthy moments that will give you "the feels" I thoroughly enjoyed this well-paced and well-written romance.

Save The Date by Monica Murphy is an fun and breezy read! The story is engaging, and the two main characters are easy to get to know. This is the first book from the author's Dating series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone. Caroline Abbott and Alexander Wilder shared their first kiss while playing hide and seek about fourteen years ago. At that time, Alex was Caroline's older brother's best friend. Only days after their memorable moment, Alex's family moved away. Now Alex is engaged, and heir to his family's luxury hotel conglomerate. Caroline works for Noteworthy, a stationary store that caters to the wealthy. She is an expert in all things bridal, and loves helping couples pick out the perfect wedding stationary. After an inquisitive hello in Caroline's best friend's coffee shop, Alex, now with his wackadoo fiance, are in her workplace, picking out their save-the-date cards. Alex's fiancee is an adulteress, in addition to being a gold-digger and stalker. Luckily they never marry, and Alex realizes that Caroline is the one that got away. Caroline is very attracted to Alex, and as a result, their time together evolves into much more. This is an enjoyable light read with a few very sexy encounters. The story flows along quite effortlessly and there was never a moment that I did not savor. Caroline's group of friends are fun, and I am hopeful they each get their own book. If you are a "relationship of convenience" fan, then you will like this book. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I absolutely loved every page and word of Monica Murphy's latest romance - Save the Date. It has a little bit of everything - a second chance, crazy ex and a fake engagement it covers all the trope bases along with being probably my new favorite Monica Murphy book. Caroline Abbott is good at her job - she helps engaged couples pick out the perfect stationery for their upcoming weddings. When her latest couple walks into her store she notices 2 things - 1 the bride to be is a little off and 2 the groom to be is not only the guy who flirted with her 15 min before he is her first kiss. To say that Alex Wilder has grown up quite well is an understatement - he is definitely no longer the lanky kid with glasses that Caroline remembers. Alex also seems disengaged with the whole wedding process something that Caroline finds strange. Then when she catches the bride to be in a compromising position she knows that she needs to tell Alex and that's when the story really takes off. Alex Wilder knows he is a workaholic - helping to run his families hotel chain doesn't allow for much downtime. Feeling pressure from his family he knows he probably jumped the gun in asking his fiance to marry him especially after he runs into the beautiful Caroline Abbott at a local coffee shop. Not to mention when Caroline catches her he knows he needs to break things off but he needs a fiance to close a deal with a European family who has the perfect building in Paris - can he get Caroline to help him and can he keep his feelings hidden? Save the Date is funny, romantic and charming from the beginning. Ms. Murphy does a fantastic job drawing the reader into the story with great character development and story set up. The idea that a romance doesn't have to be locked into one type of story is what I really loved - it was not long and drawn out which it certainly could have been with the horrible bridezilla. Told in dual POV's we get both sides of the story which I loved. We also get to meet some great secondary characters who I can't wait to see again in the Dating series. I cant recommend Save the Date enough - it's worth the time for sure.

Caroline Abbott is living a content life. Her job at Noteworthy is enjoyable. She has a great best friend/roommate, Stella. Surrounded by a wonderful group of girlfriends. Then one morning, while enjoying her fav cup of coffee, she encounters someone from her past. A very HANDSOME someone. Alex Wilder was her first kiss, her first crush and here he is. Ordering wedding invitations with his fiance'. Not exactly how she would have liked to reconnect with him, that is for sure. At first, I was wondering how in the world was the author going to make this story work?? I should have known, Monica Murphy wouldn't let me down! What a great story. Fun twists and turns. A wonderful second chance romance! I fell in love with the characters. I can not wait for more of this series.

Love Second Chances! Wedding preparations requires a knowledgeable person to make it a day to remember. Caroline Abbott is just that person. She is a wedding stationary designer and she is one of the best in the business. Alex Wilder is planning the wedding with his fiance, Tiffany. They go to Caroline to plan their wedding stationary. Tiffany is demanding and it causes an urgency to the job. When addresses gets mixed up, it brings out the secrets within the relationship. These secrets changes their lives. Alex has to find a way to recover before he finishes a hotel purchase deal. And Caroline helps Alex with his situation. And since Alex and Caroline have a past friendship and history, they are able to feel the connection... Second Chance romances are always on the top of my list. Monica Murphy knows how to write great characters and fun stories. The surprises, drama, and emotion that the story holds leaves you wanting more and it brings you smiles to see how Caroline & Alex find their way back to each other! Another winner!

Everyone remembers their first kiss, especially Caroline, because her first kiss was also the best kiss she has ever had. Sadly, it was also the last time she saw Alex; that is until fate steps in and converges Caroline and Alex’s lives in order to change the course of their future. The attraction between Caroline and Alex is always close to the surface even when it shouldn’t be, but there is a reason Alex is uninterested in the woman who has embroiled him in her schemes. Luckily, Caroline is morally obligated to ensure Alex knows the truth even though she could be vilified for the deed. There is a lot of backstory for the characters within Save the Date, focusing on the aspects of their upbringing that has shaped their identities as well as the viewpoint into different family dynamics and the role it plays in shaping the person we become. There is a larger portion of focus on Caroline but I think this is due to the strong, independent women in her life. Her friends are amazing and truly empowering, I want to be friends with them. The introduction and interactions with Caroline’s friends pave the way for future books in the series which I am extremely happy about, it will be fantastic see each of them get their happily ever after Business and family dynamics place Caroline and Alex in the precarious situation of a faux relationship even thought their emotions and attraction are anything but fake. Navigating the rocky road laid out before them proves especially difficult when outside factors test the strength of their belief in each other. Save the Date is sweet, cute and something a little bit different. Girl power emanates through the pages proving you don’t need a man in your life to be happy but when the right one comes along they enhance what you already have ❤

I haven’t read a Monica Murphy story in quite some time, so after I read the blurb for Save the Date, I signed up for an ARC because it sounded like a sweet and funny summer read - one that meshed together quite a few tropes that I enjoy reading - a fake relationship, friends-to-lovers, and a bit of a second chance romance feel. And after reading quite a few emotional and dark romances, I knew I could use a light hearted read to even things out a bit in my head and in my heart, and Save the Date did just that! Caroline Abbott is a great heroine because she’s extremely relatable and her internal musings as well as her quirky personality fit who she was and how she viewed things and lived her life, and while I would have liked her to stand her ground a bit more and not allow Tiffany’s witchy behavior and antics to get to her the way they do, the fact that Caroline was flawed and always stayed true to the woman she had always been made her likable and the perfect girl for Alex. At the beginning of the story, I didn’t know if I was going to like Alex that much; he seems focused on building his business and not much else and the fact that it was clear that he didn’t love Tiffany but allowed things to go as far as they did with her didn’t sit too well with me. But, I’m glad that Murphy provides readers with his perspective because it helped me to see the bigger picture where Alex was concerned and as the story went on, I found him to be a likable hero, especially when he was alone with Caroline, because it was those times that truly illustrated how he felt about her. I loved that Paris was the setting for their fake relationship because its atmosphere actually allowed Caroline and Alex to explore their mutual attraction and growing feelings in a romantic place - one where no one knew who they were or the fact that they were supposedly faking their connection in order for Alex to procure a business deal. Besides, Paris is the city of love, and in the story, it’s the place where these two begin to realize just how perfect they would be together in an actual relationship not just a fake one. Save the Date is a light-hearted, slow-burn read - one that delivers laughs, swoon worthy moments, and a palpable connection between the hero and heroine that proves just how good together they could be. 4 Poison Apples

SAVE THE DATE is the first instalment in Monica Murphy’s contemporary, adult, romance series. This is twenty-five year old, stationary salesperson Caroline Abbott, and twenty-eight year old, billionaire hotelier Alexander Wilder’s storyline. Told from dual first person perspectives (Alex and Caroline) SAVE THE DATE follows the second chance romance (of sorts) between Caroline Abbott, and Alexander Wilder. Caroline works for a local stationary store, NOTEWORTHY, and her latest wedding client is none other than her ‘first kiss’ Alexander Wilder, her brother’s childhood friend, and the man with whom she will fall in love. Alexander seems oblivious to his fiancé ‘s actions, including the affair discovered by our story line heroine. As Alex prepares for a trip overseas, our hero is informed, by his father and company CEO he needs a ‘fake fiancé ‘ to improve his image as he negotiates the purchase of new property. With his fiancé no longer in the picture, Alex offers Caroline a trip to Paris in an effort to secure his business negotiations. What ensues is the building relationship between Alex and Caroline, and the potential fall-out as Alex struggles with the possibility of sabotage at a personal level. The relationship between Alex and Caroline is a rekindling romance between two people who were one another’s first kiss, a first kiss where shortly afterward Alex ghosted our story line heroine. Years later Caroline will come face to face with her childhood crush only to discover Alex was engaged to someone else. The limited $ex scenes are passionate and seductive, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text but I struggled with the lack of perceived palpable sexual chemistry. We are introduced to Alex’s former fiancé Tiffany Ratcliffe, and his father Mr.Wilder; Caroline’s boss Iris, co-worker Cassie, and best friend Stella; and French businessman Alain Descheaux and his wife Sabine, as well as their son Louis, and his wife Manon. SAVE THE DATE is a story of family, friendship, second chances and love; a story of perception, power, and wealth. The premise is engaging and inviting; the romance is tender and suggestive; the characters are captivating and colorful. SAVE THE DATE is a energetic and spirited story of fated love.

Monica Murphy hit the jackpot with Save the Date! Alexander and Caroline are a couple you can't help but cheer for. They were each other's first kiss when they were younger and have recently reconnected in a very awkward way. Alexander was engaged to a true bridezilla, named Tiffany and Caroline was the sales person who assists them in purchasing their "Save the Date" cards and wedding invitations. It only gets more complicated when Caroline sees Tiffany cheating on Alexander and then has to be the one to tell him about it. The storyline continues to unfold from there. It is all further enriched by the strong supporting characters. I believe there is a great potential for several more books centering around Caroline's friends and their adventures in finding love. I look forward to reading more by Ms. Murphy in this series. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.

I loved this book. I loved the way Alex and Caroline bump into each other. This book had me laughing especially his fiancée and the things she does. There’s chemistry right from the beginning between Alex and Caroline. They knew each other as kids and we’re each other’s first kiss which was sweet and cute. They are super hot together when they head off to Paris when Alex has to go on a business deal. I did want to slap Alex once towards the end but it wasn’t too bad. I loved how Caroline meets up with her friends and they invite another to their group. Love how close she is to her friends and how they can talk to each other about anything. I highly recommend this book. Can’t go wrong with a Monica Murphy book. She always delivers. Always captivating and entertaining. Can’t wait for the next book.

What a wonderfully sweet, sexy, drama-filled second chance romance. Caroline has found her passion in paper; she loves helping brides find the perfect ‘save the date’ and invitations for their weddings. She never dreams that her latest client will bring Alex back into her life. Alex was her first kiss when they were kids and he was her brother’s best friend. Then he disappeared. When she sees him again, those feelings she had as a 12-year-old are still there. His fiancé is a bridezilla and when Caroline has to share something she witnessed with Alex, well, his world gets flipped. Alex is stunned to see Caroline again after all these years but it’s a welcome surprise. When he finds himself in a bind for a deal he’s trying to close, he enlists Caroline to be his fake fiancé. As they travel to Paris, will they be able to keep everything platonic? Or will those old feelings win? I had fun with their journey as they reconnected and weathered the challenges that presented.

Charming & Sweet! I love Monica Murphy’s style, she always pulls me in. “Save The Date” was another fantastic read, that left a smile on my face and my heart happy. I enjoyed Caroline and Alex so much. Them reconnecting was super entertaining, charming and sweet, and had me smiling big time. I loved learning about their past history and I enjoyed the slow build of heat as everything played out. I also loved the flirty fun vibe it had going on and Caroline’s friends support and counsel through all the ups and downs. But the best part for me was their fun, flirty, witty banter and their inner dialogue. So cute and so real! Fantastic Read! Don’t miss this great second chance romance!

Save the Date shows the lighter side of Monica Murphy. I found Caroline endearing, Alex frustrating and the drama surrounding their chance meeting hard to resist. From sassy to spicy, Murphy keeps the mood light and the laughter constant. A gold standard romance that captivates the heart.
