Overview

This is the story of one man’s voyage around the world. Over a period of five years and a distance of 45,000 nautical miles (twice earth’s equatorial circumference), the author, aboard his 105-foot, expedition motor yacht, with a crew of six, encountered new friends and new places, faced danger including armed pirates, had a hex cast upon him, was storm-tossed and much, much more, yet he survived to tell the story. Most of all his voyage was a wondrous escapade.

ESCAPADE: n. A lark, a caper, a fling, a SLOW BOAT NEKKID event. Okay, maybe that definition ain’t in the Webster’s, but it ought to be. The author reminds us that the superficial seriousness of daily life leaves us sadly empty of what may be the rarest sensation on earth: FUN!

This book, and the voyage it recounts, is all about having FUN! Reading it will put a hitch in your step and a kiss-my-butt attitude on your face. Welcome to frivolity!

About the Author

Phil Phillips was born and raised in Pensacola, at the far west end of Florida's panhandle. After twelve years as a commercial real estate attorney, mostly representing European aristocratic families making direct investments in the US, he began developing office parks designed for the newly ascendant technology companies. After selling most of his properties to a German investment fund in early 2006, he bought Indigo, an expedition-style motor yacht, hired a crew of six, and set off on a five-year voyage around the world pursuing a long-time dream. He resides today with his wife of many years in Jacksonville, Florida.
