New York Times bestselling author Joanne DeMaio delivers a delightful novel about following your heart on the snow-dusted journey home.

Jane March's greeting cards have lost their jingle. While worried about her job at New England's Cobblestone Cards, she stumbles upon a forgotten box of her mother's nostalgic paintings. They depict small-town Addison's covered bridge and red barns and picket-fenced colonials. If only Jane's designs could capture the same heart. When her mother shows her how with a Christmas to-do list of memories in the making, Jane gets checking.

Wes Davis has come home again, jilted and a little bitter. His autumn wedding's off, and so is his holiday spirit. Even seeing the rustic wooden deer his father whittles by lantern light doesn't help as he settles back into the shabby Victorian home of his childhood. It is only when Wes encounters the sparkling Jane March on his winding mail route that his cold winter heart begins to thaw.

As the fall months turn wintry, and the season merry, a funny thing happens in this charming Connecticut town: Jane and Wes check off items on that Christmas itinerary, together. But falling in love wasn't included on the list. Or was it?

Snow Deer and Cocoa Cheer is a treasured keepsake, reminding us that like winter's first snow, life brings a beautiful flurry of its own unexpected moments.

This is a great book to read around Christmas time, or any time. The book takes place in Addison Cove, Connecticut, and is just like a place I would love to visit some day, or maybe live. I loved the people and the way they knew all about each other, the care they gave each other, and the way they looked out for each other. I especially loved the characters of Jane and Wes. The way the author writes brings the town and it’s people to life in the pages of this book. They have real lives and real problems, just like we all do. It may sound silly, but I loved the way Wes talked to his dog. It reminded me of me talking to my dog. This is a feel good book that makes you feel all comfy like you’re visiting with friends. It has a steady pace and keeps your attention. I loved revisiting Addison Cove and would love it if DeMaio would write more books centered around this town. This is the sixth book by this author and I’ve read them all. She’s been one of my favorite authors from book #1, and has never let me down. I would highly recommend every one of them. I can’t wait for another book from this talented writer.

Are you looking for the perfect book to curl up with and enjoy that hot cup of cocoa? I have the perfect book for you and I just know you are going to enjoy it. Snow Deer and Cocoa Cheer by Joanne DeMaio is an awesome winter time read to just relax and forget about the cold outside. Joanne DeMaio is one of my favorite authors that takes me away while I read her books. She does such a fabulous job with description that she always takes me on a little vacation each time I read one of her books. I felt the warm welcome of the small town, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, and became completely engrossed in the story of Jane March and Wes Davis. Jane March is in a bit of a lull. She just can't seem to get that spark of creation she needs for her job making greeting cards. Not only is she dealing with a creative drought she has a broken arm that she is dealing with. I instantly found a bond with Jane. Her Mom sends her on a little journey around town on her I Insist list that I just loved. I could visualize each and every stop on the I Insist List and enjoyed each item on the list as much as Jane and Wes. Wes Davis has had it with small town life. He's going through an emotional time and doesn't want all those sympathetic looks and the "How are you doing?" questions. His fiancee has left him almost at the alter and in a small town everyone knows. I loved that Wes is a mailman and everyone and anyone knows him and when and where he is going to be at. It's just one of those things that gives you the extra small town feel. I loved how Jane ask Wes for help to get to the places on her I Insist List. As they visit and discover each little fabulous wonder of Winter they get to know each other better and a deeper relationship that neither is expecting forms. The characters are incredible and I loved that I was given the chance to catch up with some old friends to see how life had been for them. Ms. DeMaio's stories always leave me with the feeling that I just made a couple of new friends on the wonderful vacation that she takes me on with her words. I love this lady's work. She's very talented and write a tremendous story any time of the year. Her Christmas stories are just as special as her summer beach stories. Once again Ms. DeMaio has written a fabulous story that held me captivated, left my heart filled with joy, and my soul filled with the spirit of the holidays and love. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Addison. I loved watching Jane and Wes develop a new relationship and help each other heal from both physical and emotional issues. Joanne DeMaio knows how to write a lovely story that holds my attention from the first page all the way to very end. Then I'm left waiting for her next release with anxious anticipation. I can't wait to see what wonderful story she has in store for us lucky readers next. I know it'll be a great one. I have to mention Jane's Cards. They are so well described that I wanted to run out and buy her cards to send out for Christmas. They sound beautiful. I also must mention the cover. I love when the cover is so enticing it makes you want to grab the book and dig in. Then when you dig in and the story is just as fabulous as you thought it was going to. Oh those are the things that make this reviewer a happy lady. I was given the opportunity to read this fabulous story so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Snow Deer and Cocoa Che

When it comes to making you feel you know the characters personally, author Joanne DeMaio has the knack. In her latest release, SNOW DEER AND COCOA CHEER, DeMaio takes readers to the quaint, picturesque town of Addison. With an eye for detail and vivid, rich descriptions, the author makes the town come alive around you. The small town atmosphere and friendly characters draws you and makes you want to be a part of the community. As the lives of the two main characters – Jane March and Wes Davis – come together and interact, readers are taken on a magical journey. The characters will inspire and delight as they gain self-awareness and discover life’s full of unexpected wonders. The characters are rich, well-developed and likable. The author explores faults and traits with the characters that readers can relate to. The emotions throughout the story will tug on your heartstrings, but is a heartwarming tale you can’t put down. This is a feel-good story that is a perfect read for the coming holiday season, as well as throughout the year. FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this book was sent to me by the author in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.

Dollycas’s Thoughts Another extraordinary story from Joanne DeMaio. If this story doesn’t get you in the holiday spirit nothing will. Jane March and Wes Davis are both at crossroads in their lives when the reconnect in Addison Cove. She is recouping after an physical injury and he is recouping from an emotional one. Their journey over the next few weeks is almost magical. Jane is an artist but it is the author that breathes life into her watercolors and the beautiful places around Addison Cove. Oh my, I was able to envision them so clearly in my mind. The extra little touches Jane added to her card covers positively sparkled in the author’s words. Just joyful to read. This is going to be a hard holiday season for me, the first since my son’s death. It is stories like this one that are going to help me endure the days. I was able to escape to Connecticut for an afternoon. I did shed a few tears because Kris is never out of my thoughts but Wes and Jane’s story made me smile. All the characters were wonderful and the way the town rallies together just made me feel warm all over. I am posting this on Thanksgiving because it was the only day I had open when I was offered this book for review and there was no way I was going to miss it. I have loved everything this author writes and her books always seem to arrive when my life needs a bit of a lift and I thank Joanne DeMaio so much for that. So my recommendation is this, click on the book cover and buy it and download it now, then go enjoy the day with your family. Then on Saturday evening when you have had enough of all the Black Friday and the Saturday sales, make yourself a nice cup of cocoa and head to your favorite reading spot and enjoy Snow Deer and Cocoa Cheer. Come back when you finish and tell me all what you thought! I hope you think it was a perfect escape too!

In Snow Deer and Cocoa Cheer, author Joanne DeMaio transports the reader to the tranquil small New England town of Addison Cove, Connecticut for a heartwarming Christmas tale of family, friendship, and finding unexpected love. After breaking her left wrist, greeting card designer Jane March heads back to her hometown of Addison Cove, Connecticut to recuperate at her childhood home. Jane has lost her "jingle" and needs to find new inspiration for next season's Christmas cards, or possibly lose the job that she loves. With an uncertain future before her, Jane discovers a set of her mother Lillian's paintings of various scenes around Addison which provide her with a much needed spurt of mojo. But it's Lillian who adds the extra touch of inspiration for Jane by telling her that she needs to get back to the roots of the Christmas season and immerse herself and experience them. Lillian provides Jane with an "insist list of things to do around Addison" that will help her muse find the inspiration behind the wonder of the holiday season. Wes Davis is a third generation mailman who has been jilted by his ex-fiance two weeks before their wedding. Wes moves back home with his father, Pete, whose hobby is whittling wooden deer that he sells at local town events. With the Christmas holiday approaching, Wes is not looking forward to the small town gossip and answering questions about his failed wedding, so to avoid it he exchanges his honeymoon tickets for a trip to California over the holiday. When Wes delivers the mail to Jane's house, he notices that her arm is in a sling, and he reluctantly begins to help Jane complete her mother's insist list. As the friendship develops between Jane and Wes, from late October leading up to Christmas, they embark on the Christmas list adventure, and their relationship blossoms into something more when Jane's natural sparkle thaws Wes' frozen heart, giving them an unexpected chance at finding love. Snow Deer and Cocoa Cheer is a wonderful Christmas story that will tug at the heartstrings and fill the reader with seasonal joy. Author Joanne DeMaio weaves a spellbinding tale set in the quaint New England town of Addison Cove, Connecticut, that captivates the reader's attention with a heartwarming romance. This delightful holiday tale has a rich description of the breathtaking small town setting, holiday tradition and greeting cards, birch deer decorations, delicate swirls of snowflakes, and yummy hot cocoa. With both Jane and Wes' lives at a crossroads, their emotional journey of taking a risk, letting go of the past, and finding an unexpected chance at love and happiness unfolds in a magical way that will make the reader believe in the power of love and friendship, and the joy of the holiday season. There is not enough words that I can express about the simplicity and beauty in which author Joanne DeMaio weaves her wonderful heartwarming and multi-layered stories that are filled with a mixture of loss and love, friendship, wholesome family values, and life's unexpected special moments, it is simply breathtaking. As the readers follow Jane and Wes' story, they will discover the true holiday meaning of what snow deers and coca cheers stands for, it is simply magical! Snow Deer and Cocoa Cheer is an enchanting holiday story full of warmth and comfort that will remind the reader of the magic, joy, and spirit of Christmas. It is a lovely story that will resonate with the reader for a very long time.

Snow deer and cocoa cheer by Joanne DeMaio Wanted to read this book because I've read all the other works by the author and they just keep getting better and better. Book starts out with Jane March and she's making her special Christmas greeting cards with added New England magic. She's at her mother's farmhouse with a broken left arm while she's still able to design her Christmas cards with her right arm. She needs to get in the holiday spirit to continue to work. Story also follows Wes Davis, he's the mailman and he runs into Jane when hand delivering her mail. He had no idea her arm was in a sling. He just wants to get his mailrun done, his schedule. He's to be married in several weeks...his brother is Jane's orthopedic doctor. He soon learns she has called it off and he plans to go to CA during the holiday season, to avoid all the questions about the break up. Jane's mother may have the solution to her design block and gives her a list of things to do to get her in the holiday mood. Wes can help drive her. Love hearing of the event on The Green and new words-that I actually look up online. Love learning new things and about others careers. Whittling sounds like one would need a lot of patience, as in designing greeting cards. Precious scene with Wes's hands and Jane's on top showing and feeling how to whittle. Seems both parents are gearing their kids up to follow in their footsteps, in their own way. Love the time Wes shares daily with his dad, priceless! Love how they help out one another for each of their businesses. So many scenes are revisited from past books by the author. If you've never read them you can still catch up with the events that take place: boat parade is one of my favorites. A keeper! This story puts me in the mood to want to decorate this year, thanks! I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book! Jane designs greeting cards and is staying with her mom after she broke her arm but has lost her jingle. Wes is the local mailman who she knows from childhood. They develop a friendship as he helps her get her jingle back by following an I insist list her mother gave her to help her designing her holiday cards. Wes is finding his way again after he is jilted before his wedding and doesn't know what to make of Jane. I love the New England setting, as always, the author makes the characters relatable and you find yourself pulling for them. I love how she pulls people and places from her other books but it doesn't change the story if you don't read the others, although I recommend you do read all of her books. This book definitely gets you in the holiday mood. Highly recommend it. I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Snow Deer and Cocoa Cheer is the perfect story to get you in the mood for the holidays this year. The story start off in the fall, in October, right about this time of year. And we go through Halloween and Thanksgiving and then right up to Christmas, right along with all the wonderful people who live in Addison. I was able to take a trip back to the lovely town of Addison where I got to reconnect with the community and the people I had come to love. Jane goes back home to recuperate after she breaks her arm and where she is going to try to save her career. She is a greeting card maker who seems to have 'lost her jingle'. Her mother is there to support her and to try to help Jane find her way back. Wes is just biding his time until he can leave his old life behind. His fiancé called of their wedding and instead of facing the questions from everyone at Christmas, he decides to head to the west coast. Who knows? Maybe he can start a new life there and be happy. Snow Deer and Cocoa Cheer is a heartwarming story that shows us how beautiful the holidays can be when you are surrounded by those who love you. Joanne does such a fabulous job with her words that the reader can't help feeling all of the holiday joy and emotions that Jane, Wes, and all of the other people of Addison feel as they experience the love of the community. Her descriptions are so perfect that I had no trouble 'seeing' the wonderfulness of Addison. I am always so excited when there is another Joanne DeMaio story to read and I am never disappointed. I love her stories and I love my trips back to the worlds she creates.

Jane March designs greeting cards for Cobblestone Cards, but when she is laid up with a broken arm, she returns home to Addison. Staying with her mom, Lillian, and trying to find her “jingle” again, she discovers unexpected friends and the possibility of romance. Snow Deer and Cocoa Cheer, like all books by this author, brings the reader right into the homey world of the characters. We are revisited by characters and places from other books, when we shop at Whole Latte Life and Snowflakes & Coffee Cakes. As Jane discovers a new plan for her next series of cards, with the help of a list her mother has offered, we are soon immersed in the New England Village settings she creates. I loved the covered bridge, the snow settling on the Victorian houses, and I especially fell in love with the carriage house next door to Jane’s mother’s farmhouse, with its loft that has views of the countryside. I know I wouldn’t be able to move away from that space. The village is a place I would love to spend Christmas. Wes Davis is an interesting character. Jilted by his almost-bride, he is struggling. He had given up his apartment and now lives with his father, Pete, in Addison. Wes is a mailman, like his father and grandfather before him. Meanwhile, in his spare time, Pete whittles creations that become the centerpiece for his new website, and Jane assists with the marketing. And when Wes and Jane want to communicate with each other, they leave up the red flag on her mailbox. Can love be on the horizon? Is it too soon for Wes to begin again? And what will happen next for Jane after her arm heals? A delightful read that makes this reader want to visit this New England village, eat comfort foods, and buy greeting cards from the series Jane creates. This book definitely earned five stars from me.
