Only David holds the key to saving his girlfriend and preventing more deaths-a Holy Key, hewn from the wood of the cross of Christ and passed down through the centuries. The Soul Collectors Charles Quince Outskirts Press,2008 ISBN: 9781432711238 Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for ReviewYourBook.com, 03/09 4 stars Mild horror. Charles Quince offers readers a mild horror story. I do not usually read horror, but this one caught my eye. The cover is nicely done and hints at what the reader can find inside. The plot reminded me of Stephen King's Storm of the Century. The setting is Maysville, a college town. The Winston and Mildred are an elderly couple that live in a mysterious old home. When people visit with the Winston, they come away changed. The Winston offers visitors the opportunity of shaping their own future. There is a price to pay for reaching dreams, and the price is high. The plot was interesting. This book did not flow smoothly. It jumped from one character to another without warning. I found that confusing. It would have been better to have a smoother transition. The Soul Collectors is a mere 78 pages. I read it in one sitting. I can see the possibilities of a sequel in the future.
