My grandaughter loved this book and after listening to it on my nook was able to read it to herself and take a test on it at school getting credit for her reading class. I listened to the story as she did and thought it was a very cute story.

This book is a cute book with a fun story that might help a child realize that they don't always have to be the best at everything they attempt and sometimes it is good just to be yourself and do the best you can. Splat the Cat is an endearing character too.

Its "Parents Night" at the school, and the class is preparing to sing in front of the parents, and a shy cat named Splat is nervous about singing flat and possble forgetting his part. This I can read! is a great book to have in the class as it touches topics of fear, shyness and the ability to try. Children age 4-8 will enjoy reading this funny story that only has two to four sentences on each page ideal for new readers.
