I’m in trouble. Again. And instead of facing my problems head-on, I’ve run away. Far away this time, and no one can catch me—not my two younger sisters, Violet and Rose, not my father, my grandmother, or that witch Pilar who wants to take control of my family’s cosmetics company. Now I’m in Hawaii, enjoying the sun and sand and water, where nobody knows the hot mess known as Lily Fowler. And I’m loving every minute of it.
But someone is watching me. Following me. He’s gorgeous. Soon we’re talking, and against all my instincts, I reveal bits and pieces of myself to Max. It feels good, though I know he can’t be the man for me. These sudden feelings we share are way too complicated, too fraught, too intense.
Then everything explodes and I’m forced to return home. My intentions have always been true, but now everyone’s mad at me. I don’t know who to turn to anymore . . . except to Max. He’s the one I want to trust. But I’m not so sure I should. Maybe it’s worth the risk—what-ifs be damned. . . .

I hate babysitting jobs, though i don’t know if i’d categorize this particular job as babysitting. I rarely take them on because they suck and they’re boring, but the money was too good to resist. If I took every fucking job that came my way because ofhow much they offer to pay me, I’d be a very rich man working the absolute bottom-of-the-barrel shit jobs. Busting cheating spouses. Catching them in compromising positions. Following them, taking photos, feeling sordid and dirty as I reveal said pictures andwatch my client either rage angrily or fall apart in tears.
Those types of jobs are a dime a dozen.
No thanks. I’m lucky enough that I can pick and choose. Though I felt like with this one, I didn’t necessarily pick it. The job chose me.
It also intrigued me. She intrigued me. Not that I’d ever confess that to a living soul. I have integrity. An image to fulfill and maintain, especially when it comes to my business. I’m not one to let my dick make business decisions for me, but this girl. . . is unlike any girl I’ve ever seen before.
The moment I looked at her photo, I knew.
I watch her now, from my aisle seat on the plane, sitting five rows behind her. She’s in the opposite aisle seat and I can get a good look at her profile if I lean forward slightly, which is exactly what I’m doing. It’s wild, how she appears completelydifferent from the photos I saw of her on the web last night while I did my research.
Whereas the endless images in my Google search featured a sexy-as-hell, scantily dressed woman doing whatever the fuck she wants all over Manhattan, this woman I’m watching now is quiet. Subdued. Wearing one of those matching sweat outfits in black withwhite trim, the word PINK scrawled across her very fine ass in glittery sequins. She blends right in on the plane, looks like every other woman her age. Not like the rich-as-fuck heiress she really is.
When she first boarded her hood was up and she had sunglasses on, as if she were trying to conceal her identity, though really she looked obvious as hell, at least to me. The media is always after her, always on her tail, so her incognito mode shouldn’tbe a surprise.
But considering she’s dressed nothing like her usual self, I figure she became comfortable and eventually tugged the hood down, revealing her long, golden-brown hair streaked with bright blond highlights pulled into a high ponytail.
Offering me a tantalizing view of her perfect profile.
Dainty nose, plump lips. Long eyelashes, high cheekbones, slightly pointed chin. Every time someone passes her by she lifts her head, then immediately looks down. Almost as if she’s afraid someone is going to approach her. Like she’s worried someone will realize who she is.
But no one would. She’s unrecognizable. I’d bet top dollar the only one on this plane who knows she’s Lily Fowler is . . . Me.
The moment the plane touches down I whip out my phone and switch it out of airplane mode, watching as a text message appears.
Did you find her?
I answer my client with a quick yes.
Are you watching her now?
I answer again in the affirmative, my gaze fixed on Lily as she, too, grabs her phone and starts to scroll through it.
Try and grab her laptop now.
Frowning at my phone, I contemplate how to reply. I can’t just make a grab while we’re still on the freaking plane and run. I have to be subtle about this. I warned my overeager, over-insistent client. I don’t make rash decisions. I’m not impulsive, atleast when it comes to work. There’s a method to my madness, and acting like a goddamn thief isn’t part of it.
I finally decide to answer.
I already informed you I’m not going to move too fast.
We don’t have much time.
Slowly I shake my head, glancing up to study Lily before I start typing.
We have enough. I’ll get the job done. Don’t worry.
The plane starts to slow as we make our way to the gate and the passengers are getting restless, including myself. My legs are cramped up. Sitting in coach sucks ass and is almost too much for my six-foot-two frame. My knees fucking ache. Even Lily shiftsand moves in her seat, her head turning to glance behind her, straight at me. Our gazes meet briefly and she looks away, pretending that she never saw me.
Anger burns in my gut. Anger and lust. An interesting combo, one I’ve never suffered through before while working. I pride myself on keeping my distance. Work is work. My personal life is just that . . . personal. Not that I have much of one. Not thatI have anyone in my fucking life, which is just the way I like it.
But this girl’s rejection, as brief as it was, digs at me. Pisses me off.
My phone dings and I check it.
She’s fast. Tricky. You need to take your chances when you can.
A snort escapes me. Trying to tell me how to do my job. I wish I could reply with a big “fuck you,” but I don’t. I have more class than that.
I’m faster. Trickier. Trust me. I’ll make it happen. You’ll get what you want.
As I slip my phone into the back pocket of my jeans, the flight attendant starts talking over the intercom, telling us to remain seated until the seat belt fastened lights turn off. We’re at the gate; all the passengers are poised and ready to grab theirshit and disembark. I don’t bother. My carry-on is sitting in the compartment directly above me. I can tell that the lady next to me is dying to leap out of her seat, but I’ll make her wait. Her irritation is already a palpable thing. Like I give a damn.
I gotta move slow. The last thing I need is to catch my subject’s attention. Not this early in the game.
Lily jumps to her feet the second the seat belt light shuts off, popping open the overhead compartment and pulling out a bag. A laptop bag, from the size of it.
With the coveted laptop most likely lying inside.
I curl my fingers into my palms, resting them on my knees. I want that bag. No. Scratch that. My client wants that bag—more like what’s inside of it. So I want it, too.
And I will do anything to get it.

••copy provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review•• I really enjoyed the first two books of this series, but this one fell a bit flat for me. Lily has run off to Maui to hide out and while there, she meets Max. Things move quickly but she soon finds out he's not who she thinks he is. Early on I found Max's POV to be very repetitive. Also, the final showdown with Pilar that has been building throughout these books, was disappointing. Again, in regards to Max, I wish his dominant side was explored more and I think he could've had a potentially interesting back story but it was never more than just vague mentions. A highlight was seeing Lily grow up and prove herself to her family. Even though I was a bit let down, I am looking forward to reading more of the authors work. - I'm desperate for him to destroy me in the way only he can, so he can put me back together again.
I have been waiting for Lily's story since starting this series. She spoke to me and I hardly knew her but now to read her story my heart aches for her. She is always wanting daddy's attention and the only way was to be the bad girl. There was no taming her..just showing her what she always wanted..someone to control her and show her she was loved and needed. Max walks into her life and gets everything he didn't want..fiesty, defiant and someone he can protect. This dirty talking alpha struggled with control but learned it was just as fun to give in every once in awhile without losing his dominance. Together they make the perfect couple. The perfect ending to the best series. Hoping we might get some novellas on Violet and her wedding, Rose and her baby and what the future is like for Lily. Great read!
This is the third book in the Fowler sister's series, with the middle child Lily in attendance. She's the wild one, the party animal, the one with the reputation for being fast and loose. But on this remote resort in Hawaii she's hiding out, deciding what to do with some sensitive information about her father's girlfriend when she meets Max. A quick and dirty affair suits them both. Only Max is hiding a big secret (aren't they always!)- and Lily gets burned. Once burned twice shy right? So when Max comes clean and is willing to help Lily prove the information she's got over her almost to be stepmother, can he earn back her trust? This is another sexy story in the series (easily read as a standalone, though it builds on the characters met in the previous books). Max and Lily burn up the sheets together in an assortment of ways. But sex isn't their problem, trust is. I really liked Lily in this one. It's clear that her reputation, while well deserved, is also a front for a kindler, gentler and more confused woman. She needs to buck up and take some responsibility for her life, and by the end of the story she's definitely done that, which was great to see. Max remained an enigma throughout. You find out bits and pieces of his background to create a sort of picture of him but I didn't feel that he got that fleshed out as a character, not as much as the males did in the other books in the series. Still, he's got a conscience on him and it's what leads him to realize that what he's doing isn't what he wants to be doing, and that he can do better if Lily will give him a second chance. I liked that he's willing to make amends for his actions even if she decides she wants nothing more to do with him after their issues are resolved. I enjoyed seeing Lily's sisters and the friendship the three women share. Lots of hot sex with these two as they play around and then get to the heart of things. 4 stars.
3.5 "Wanted more from the ending of this series...unless more is to come" Stars This is the third book in Murphy's Fowler Sisters Series. This time around it is the middle sister, known to us previously as the trouble maker, Lily. Somehow Lily has gotten herself in the middle of the craziness Pilar has brought to Fleur Cosmetics and her family. Not sure what to do next, she high tails it to Maui to hide out for awhile. She becomes enamored by the attractive stranger who initially had been watching her but winds up saving her while out in the ocean. Max is keeping an eye on Lily in hopes of getting what he needs so he can be done with this job and the crazy woman who hired him. After saving Lily he can't get the feel of her body against him off his mind and decides to mix a little pleasure with his business, something he knows he shouldn't do. Of course everything comes out, Lily feels betrayed and Max, well he is torn by the need to do his job and his feelings for Lily. Eventually once he finds out the motives of his crazy client, it is easy for him to let him take care of Lily and help her family. This book was just too easy. It is another insta lust book that leads to an insta love scenario. It reminds me too much of Rose's book and just wasn't full of enough substance to make me love it. Everything that goes down with Pilar was too quick and seems unfinished. The sexy scenes are intense but I just wish Max could have been more normal rather than so controlling in the bedroom. Overall, it was an easy read as I was familiar with the characters, and I was happy we get more of Rose and Violet but it just wasn't enough to pull off a great ending to this series. I loved the Fowler sisters! Lily is the wild child of the group and after she discovers some damaging information that could ruin the family business she needs time to regroup and decided what to do with the information she has. Max is there to steel her laptop and the sooner the better. The only problem is the scorching chemistry between these two and can he hurt the person he is growing to care for? Lots and drama, suspense and hot sex. A great read!
Having been a while since my last book by Monica Murphy, I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed reading her stories, but after reading the first paragraph of this book I was quickly reminded of the literary treat her books provide! The story line was very engaging and had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. The chemistry between Max and Lily was undeniable, their relationship was intensely passionate, and filled with lots of steamy action that left me blushing a few times! I highly recommend you get your hands on this book, you will not be disappointed! It is a VERY satisfying read!
Absolutely awesome!! Wonderfully written, super sexy, and filled with intrigue. This is a great story and the chemistry between Max and Lily is off the charts. Wild child Lily Fowler has always been the sister finding trouble, living life full out. Wanting to follow her own path and not follow in the rest of the families footsteps has left her a little lost. When she stumbles upon information that can possibly bring her family to it's knees both personally and professionally, Lily runs. Again. She's being watched though. Why, she's not sure but soon she and her watcher Max, are chatting and more. Can she trust him or does he have other motives???? This is one you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

Maybe it’s worth the risk—and what-ifs be damned. . . . Review: Well, it is the end of the series... I liked the series and it was enjoyable to read. Was this my favorite of the series? no. I don't know why, it had all the elements of the others in the series, but I did not feel as emotionally attached to this couple as the others. Maybe it was because the first part of the book seems to be all about sex. Hey, now do not get me wrong, I like me some sexy scenes and, really as always Ms. Murphy does an excellent job with those. I just think for me the sex came before the characters. Now, like in the other books in the series the hero comes off as a jerk and not very redeemable and Fowler sisters love redeems them, in this case Lily. I think that Lily is the most broken emotionally of the sisters, feeling like an outsider and not really belonging in her own family. I liked that the Author made Lily more than meets the eye and she really invested in her family, though feeling like that outsider. Max, Max, I like me a good private investigator, but I want to smack him when he betrays Lily, though he knows he should not. Lily was way more forgiving than I would have been when he came back. I enjoyed the ending and how it was all wrapped up. Love Ms. Murphy and her alter ego and will continue to read her books. But, this one was just okay for me. 3Stars *Received a copy of this from the publisher in exchange for fair and honest review*
Taming Lily is all its cracked up to be... SOOO GOOD. Highly recommend. ***A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review**** This is the final book in the trilogy of the FOWLER SISTERS- And now we have Lily Fowler’s book. Lily Fowler is in trouble—again. And she takes off to Hawaii to escape her trouble. The story starts off with the reader not knowing what kind of trouble she is in; just that she is in some kind of trouble. Usually the oldest is the most dependable but that is not Lily—she is known to be full of drama and making reckless decisions. There is more going on to Lily and she isn’t what the tabloids make her out to be. Lily runs of to Hawaii and there most of the story takes place on the island and on this beautiful resort. Very quickly we meet Max, some type of PI, who is very handsome and very ALPHA. He has been hired to get to Lily and get her laptop. Max is so the opposite of the kind of guy Lily goes for but when he saves Lily, her mind changes and her body is intrigued. Max, having read about Lily in the tabloids, thinks the worst about Lily doesn’t know the real Lily and doesn’t know there is more to her and doesn’t know that beneath the delicate exterior, she is in distress. Max and Lily have a steamy one night stand which occurs when he breaks into her room to steal the laptop which he was paid to “retrieve”. Max’s only objective was to get this laptop and now he soon finds that he is tangled up with Lily. Max was all for planned seduction but his desire became all too real and then he became conflicted over what he was doing –stealing the laptop, following Lily, vs real feelings for Lily and how is it going to be when everything comes out . Max was only there to obtain this laptop and such. Now, now everything is screwed up. What is a man to do?? Lily didn’t expect to find such a wonderful man such as Max and she is falling in love and the sex is out of bounds but everything goes totally wrong and she is forced to return home. When she goes home everyone is mad at her. She went away to figure out what to do but no matter what, her intentions were good but no one thought that and no one wanted to think the best of her. Lily doesn’t know where to turn or really who to trust anymore. Except,Well, really except Max and against the what ifs and this is the worst thoughts you’ve had , she lets Max into her life to help. I have to say that Max and Lily working together is awesome. I also really enjoyed their bedroom play. Max loves to spank –WOW! Loved it!! Also the author showing us how Lily feels when people keep rejecting Lily and her worth which keeps those insecurities growing and growing. I just cried for her. I felt like Lily’s father needed a swift kick in his rear for how he treated his daughter, in fact ALL his daughters. Max was such an ALPHA man-he at first was someone who I felt wasn’t worthy but by the end of the story was very worthy of Lily and she came such a way from the beginning of the first book in the trilogy. I will say that I have some unanswered questions which have not been answered which make me wonder if there will be maybe a novella down the road or maybe a continuation of this series with new characters. I would have given this a full 5 stars if not for the questions still lingering. Overall this was a great finale story, just needed some additional closure on the questions that I have. Thank You to the author for writing a great series. My rating: 4.5 stars **
We are down to the last rich and famous Fowler sister, and I have to say, Lily is my favorite. Lily Fowler is the wild sister, and yes, she worked hard to live up to that reputation she created. Lily is considered the black sheep of the Fowler family. Even though she’s the bad-behind sister, when things get tough, Lily runs. Because for Lily even when she tries to do good, it always turns out bad for her. So she’s kind of taken on the altitude of why even bother trying when the odds are always against her. I think the reason I love Lily so much is because even if she is a wild party girl, likes to drink and flirt, and act like she doesn't have much brains, she really is a smart, intelligent lady. It’s Lily who finally discovers the evidence that the Fowler's sisters, Violet and Rose, needed on the woman Pilar, that's been deceiving their father, and trying to steal control over the family business from the Fowler's sisters. But being Lily, what does she do? Yep, she runs. But this time Lily runs right into the man’s arms that she thinks is her white knight, Max. That white knight persona is more like the black knight. But just like Lily, Max is not what he seems to be. But these two were made for each other. Lily and Max's romance is definitely not a Disney fairytale romance. Lily sure isn't wearing cotton panties underneath her princess dresses, and Max's white knight armor is hiding some pretty sexy, naughty bedroom skills. It's going to take a naughty dark knight like Max to tame the wild girl in Lily Fowler. I recommend Taming Lily as a must read.
