About the Author
Carmel DUCA was born in 1965 in Malta (Europe). From 1982 to 1990 he was an active member of the Third World Group-a nongovernmental organization-working with marginalized members of society in Malta, Italy and India. In 1990 after graduating in biology from the University of Malta, he joined the Missionaries of Charity Brothers in Paris. After taking vows in England in 1993, he worked in Italy and Peru. In 1998 he was sent to Colombia and then to Guatemala. He currently lives in Los Angeles and is part of the Catholic Chaplaincy at Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.
