Overview

A man on a mission . . .

After five grueling years in a Texas prison, Austin Leigh is finally a free man. He can’t wait to go home and be reunited with his sweetheart. But when he discovers she didn’t wait for him and is now married, he becomes more determined to clear his name of the crime he never committed.

Meets the one woman who could offer him salvation—and love . . .

En route to the state capital, he meets a young woman, Loree Grant, and her dog. When he learns that they have survived a mysterious tragedy, he is moved—and curious. And as he spends more time with the lovely, intriguing woman, he sees glimpses of a future he had thought was no longer possible as they both find a new lease on life—and a love that can overcome any obstacle . . .

About the Author

Lorraine Heath always dreamed of being a writer. After graduating from the University of Texas, she wrote training manuals, press releases, articles, and computer code, but something was always missing. When she read a romance novel, she not only became hooked on the genre, but quickly realized what her writing lacked: rebels, scoundrels, and rogues. She’s been writing about them ever since. Her work has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including RWA’s prestigious RITA®. Her novels have appeared on the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists.

Have read this series and once started I couldn't put it down. Very emotional at times. The 3 brothers have gone through so much and still were able to cope with what life threw at them. This book is the 3rd in the series and rates very high with me. Austin & Loree find each other after some very devastating events had taken place in their lives and find that decisions they made then effect them now. I love how the brothers and family are in all 3 books. I highly recommend this series and this author to anyone wanting a compelling and interesting read. cmj

All 3 in the series are really great stories! Wishing Rawley's future was #4 though...

While i lliked the love story between austin and loree, i did not like it when he and becky told each other that they would always love each other. Nor did i like it when austin told loree that he would always love becky. Why was that necessary? I sure wouldnt like it if i thought my husband harbored love for some other woman. I have liked all the stories ive read by lorraine so far, which is why i bought this one, but it just felt incomplete because of that. Married people should have a solitary love and commitment between them. The ending was good but how can any woman be really happy knowing her husband still loves his first girl? Phyl p

I love all books by Lorraine Heath. I like books that have some danger to the people in the book plus i love books that are about several different members of a family or about different people in one town. I find that a lot of my friends and people I work with like these kind of books. I know we discuss books at work so I would recommend this book for club discussions. I like all kinds of books.

What a beautiful story. If you enjoyed this series I would recommend the Corbin's Series by Linda Lael Miller(Banner OBrien, Corbin's Fancy, Memories Embrace, My Darling Melissa).

Missed the carefree Austin from the two previous books. This book did not start off as compelling as did Houston and Dallas' books did but it was still good read from Lorraine Heath. Now I am trying to find the continued story with Rawley but don't think she wrote it. Wished she would.

Get past the cheesy cover and its a pretty good read. Good enough for me to try another in the series. Not your everyday cowboy. He seemed to have some common sense to go with all the other macho stuff. E.G. After getting out of prison for a crime he didn't commit he decides to try and find the real killer. After several months of dead ends he decides he isn't wasting anymore of his life on a problem that may not be solved. I liked that about him. Of course the killer is eventually unmasked but I won't give away the ending. Also a great epilogue.
