In addition to writing romances, Sharon has also published numerous works of nonfiction, including a nonfiction hardcover that has been optioned as an NBC Movie of the Week.
Although she never wanted to be pigeonholed as a writer, Sharon happily admits that writing romance is her genre of choice simply because she is a die-hard romantic who firmly believes in happy endings. Romance gives her the flexibility to explore the dynamics of two of the most fascinating topics in the world: love and families. She has also garnered numerous writing awards, including Romantic Times's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. A single parent, Sharon resides in a small suburb of Chicago, with her three children.
A frequent keynote speaker and guest lecturer at writing conferences across the country, Sharon admits that writing is her first love, followed only by reading. She counts Nora Roberts, mystery writer Martha Powers, and Richard Patterson among her favorite authors.
