What would you do if a sexy billionaire asked you to marry him just for his money? Scarlett hates her new job as a stripper, but she can't afford to quit or she'll lose her house and won't be able to afford to pay for her father's chemo. One night, the handsome billionaire Michael Manning visits the club and shows interest in Samantha-Scarlett's stage name. Scarlett is immediately attracted to Michael, but she refuses to date anyone she meets at the club. The next day, Scarlett's friend drags her to church, and to her surprise, Scarlett meets Michael again. He doesn't realize she's Samantha from last night (she wears a mask while performing) and asks her out. But she would never have guessed what kind of a sordid, yet utterly irresistible deal he's about to propose...

Reviewed by Rabia Tanveer for Readers' Favorite Marilyn Cruise’s The Black Chapel is the story of a stripper who hates her life and her job. Scarlett hates her life and she hates her job as a stripper. Every night, she dons a mask and becomes Samantha and strips for the viewing pleasure of men. But she has no choice, if she wants to keep her house and wants her father to live. Her father needs chemo to fight cancer and that takes money.  One night, she falls into the lap of a magnetic millionaire, Michael Manning. The chemistry is electrifying, but Scarlett has one rule: she does not date men she meets at the club. The very next day she meets him again in a church and their romance begins. Michael offers Samantha an obscene amount of money to marry him and divorce him when his mother passes away. Marrying him could mean that she can buy the best available treatment for her father and a life without stripping as a job. But there is a catch; his mother knows that she is a stripper. It was supposed to be a marriage in name, but now she is falling for her husband. Can she keep up with the ruse and divorce him when the time comes? Or will she tell him the truth and hope that he will love her back? The Black Chapel by Marilyn Cruise is the sweet love story that the reader hopes for. It was a pleasant surprise because I was expecting this novel to be like many other HEA love stories. Yes, the topic is clichéd, but oh, it is so beautiful. I loved Scarlett and Michael’s love, especially how they conquered their trust issues and gave each other a chance to truly love one another without any influence. A perfect novel to read when you are feeling down and desperately need to smile! Five stars!

I had a blast reading this novel. It is funny and sexy and well-written. Scarlett is deep in debt from school loans, credit cards, her father's hospital bills, stubborn refusal to sell her parents' house even though she can't keep up with the mortgage, etc. She meets her billionaire first while she dances as a stripper, stage name "Samantha," a mask on to protect her identity, and sparks fly. They meet again at church the next day, and he doesn't recognize her, but she strikes him as so good and innocent that he soon proposes she marry him strictly as a business deal. Scarlett agrees for the sake of getting money to afford cancer treatments for her father. Meanwhile her billionaire remains entranced by Samantha, still unaware that they are the same woman. Scarlett becomes amusingly jealous of her alter-ego, and competes with her stripper self to win her man. Is the plot bullet-proof? No. But the novel is well-written and well-controlled, sexy, and a ton of fun, so I found it easy to let go of any questions or doubts in favor of remaining in the fictive dream and just enjoying.

The Black Chapel was an entertaining and naughty little story. Scarlett and Michael were likeable right from the beginning. The story was a different kind of love triangle, if a girl could have a love triangle with herself that is. It was unique, and I liked it.  The Black Chapel had a bit of a Pretty Woman feel to it, but it was it's own story entirely.

I really enjoyed this book. It is very engaging and a fun read. I love the story line and it is about Scarlett, a stripper who desperately needs money to pay for her father's medical treatment. Then she meets Michael who has an interesting proposal for her. There are quite a few twists in this story and I am captivated by it. The struggles and choices that have to be made by Scarlett, pulled them right into my heart. Overall the author did a good job in keeping my attention by keeping the flow of the story smooth and the erotic parts captivating. I certainly hope to read more books by this author.
