The Brain was first published by Magazine Enterprises in September 1956 the title would run for 7 issues until March 1958. With the closure of Magazine Enterprises I. W. Publishing began a reissue of the Brain which lasted for 9 issues between 1958 between 1958 and 1963.The Brain's real name was Benjamin Bang, a child who lived with his parents. His friends called him The Brain because' .. because he's always thinking up bright ideas. (At least HE thinks they're bright ideas!)'Although he means well what Benjamin calls his brainstorms, which normally involve building gadgets, invariably end in disaster.The main contributor to The Brain was Dan DeCarlo. He is best known for his work at Archie Comics during the late 1950s and early 1960s. He modernized the characters and established the house style. Dan DeCarlo is also credited with creating Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Josie and the Pussycats and Cheryl Blossom.The comic reprints from are reproduced from actual classic comics, and sometimes reflect the imperfection of books that are decades old
