I'm a devout fan of Mr. Weeks, and his friends. of late I've read the last books in a number of different series, and have been left disappointed. This was not the case here. From start to finish I found myself not wanting to put this down. I know it was supposed to be a trilogy, but honestly this was so worth the two additional books. I can't wait for the next Weeks production!

I almost never review books.... but this one is special... and by that I mean it is in the top three I've ever read... it's hard to chose up there at the top (and I've read most of them). It is the best allegorical book since Narnia without question and for an adult reader is superior to even that masterpiece. It is exciting, innovative, and thought provoking.... to the point that one could teach a college theology class on the book. It is theology too, done in a way that is not offensive or pushy, but which shines a light on the evils of mankind, the foolish ways we try to redeem ourselves, and the only way that redemption can be received.I am sad it is over and will enjoy sharing it with my kids someday... after they are old enough for the language... and sex... and murder.... maybe when they are 18 :) . Well done Mr. Weeks, I hope millions read this book... it might literally improve our nation and world.

It's unfortunate that the last book of a series carries the rating for the entire series, because the 1st four books are better than this concluding novel. A world and magical system painted in vivid "colors", characters that command your attention and engagement, and a compelling narrative make for a story that is as good as the Shadowbringer series - high praise indeed! Unfortunately, the author fell slightly short in sustaining that excellence to the end. Still, anyone who read the 1st four books must read this concluding novel. All the plot threads are resolved in a sastisfying manner, though the novel dragged on a bit to "get there". The multiple epilogues device at first spiced up the ending, then, like the rest of the book, lingered a bit too much, wearing out its welcome. The author is to be commended for undertaking and delivering this grand work, though I wonder whether a tightly plotted trilogy would have better served, elevating this good work to the level of a masterpiece!

An epic ending to an epic world, storyline, character attachment, and so much more that words cannot express. Thank you for sharing these books with me and the world. I only wish they never had to end!

if you have ever come to the end of a fantastic series and felt like you have lost a friend, well, prepare to feel like you are saying goodbye to family.this is one of the most will thought and thorough endings of a series I have read in a long time.just at the moment I thought there could be no redemption, Brent comes out of nowhere and delivers the best for if redemption possible.I love the Lightbringer series, and most importantly, I have enjoyed the questions it asked.thank you Brent Weeks, for writing characters that you truly care about, which in turn makes me (us) care about them also.

This is a perfect ending to the series. It's fun, thrilling, and keeps your attention the whole way through. At no point in the end did I find that a character's personal ending was forced or that the character might have had plot armor. It was an ending that readers and the characters deserved. This whole series has been an absolute joy and is a must read for any fantasy fan.

I'm not much for writing reviews. It ended well enough, but now I'm hoping he has a few spinoffs planned.

This is epic fantasy, and the lore and mythology is packed in there pretty tightly, just the way I like it! Weeks does an excellent job of following the various story threads through to their logical conclusions. The thing Weeks does best, which shows up in spades here, is giving the characters a believable inner life and level of self-doubt that makes them feel human and recognizable even as they do incredible magical things. Read this series. You won't be sorry.

I happened upon Brent Weeks some years ago while searching for a new series to read. I was immediately sucked into his writing and mesmerized by the detail which brought the stories to life. Hands down one of the greatest novels and best authors I've ever read. The Burning White is the perfect ending to an amazing series.

Definitely worth the read. Reread the first four books so I could have fresh understanding of what was going on. Best series I have read in quite a while!

A brilliant culmination to a brilliant series! This book brings a needed finality to the series while still leaving just enough open for a reader to ponder for weeks. Each major player gets their part in turn while still maintaining an overarching storyline that brings all the fine threads of paryl together at the end.
