Enjoyed the book. Found it interesting and the female characters were strong, intelligent, not easily intimidating & able to accomplish their goals.

Several years ago I quit buying Patterson after he converted from a great novelist to a money-hungry word factory. I knew better but fell for it anyway. The word hacks he hires are people who can't make it on their own. Maybe we should adopt the King James Bible technique of always printing Patterson's words in red. Combining two over-used plots into one didn't work. The book appears bereft of both editing and proof reading. What we did learn is the "co-arthur" here loves to use pretty and cute. Various military personnel's ranks are mis-stated so often I at first thought it was some kind of joke. Using the south travelogue approach lets the author work in myriad references to locations that were apparently pulled from google search. Character development was weak and silly although the plot picked up near the end. The moral I guess was not to mess with a woman's family. Doing so exposes two Mexican cartels, the middle east and the entire military command control structure to extinction. The artifact of always being late for important meeting is not quite as weak as the plot saver of some woman 3,000 miles away coming through with details that had been hiding in plain sight for months. For Gods sake lets quit buying this junk, it just encourages him.

The plot was twisted and character development lacking. I was not invested in success of heroine as much as in many other stories by same author.

It would be hard to be a collaboration between two such good authors. The plot is well conceived and the motive for the kidnapping, when revealed, is a real surprise.

I am very careful when I buy James Patterson books anymore., They aren't like they used to be and I have been reading is books for a very long time. This book was great! Very glad I purchased it and I couldn't put it down. When he writes I am very careful the ones I pick that are writers with him . I usually go for the same 2 that he write3s with and I am usually pretty happy about it.
