Overview

"The Frog, the Mermaid and the Fly" is a fairytale with a very unusual twist. It is a story about a frog, a fly, a crab and a mermaid. It is a journey of a very unlikely duo, a lonely frog named Sir Gavin and an orphan fly named Allie. They first met as Allie the fly found herself stuck on the tip of Sir Gavin's tongue, and just as he was getting ready to eat her, he hears a faint voice say, "Stop!" Then he heard it again, "Stop!" Through it all, Sir Gavin and Allie the fly end up being the best of friends. Sir Gavin had always wished for one true friend and now he was so happy to call Allie the fly his friend.
Everything seems perfect, that is until new neighbors move into the pond and friendships start to be tested.
Then, something happens within this story that changes everything. Soon Sir Gavin will clearly know who his true friends are. True motives are revealed and hearts begin to change. Someone falls in love and friendships will be tested to their fullest.
It is a message of grace and forgiveness. How we need to learn to be ourselves and that it doesn't matter how beautiful we are on the outside, it is our inner beauty that really matters and makes us a good friend.
In this book, things are not always as they seem. It all ends, with a moral to the story and a guide to being a TRUE friend.

About the Author

Debbie Noel and her husband, Ted, are wild rice farmers up in Northern California. Debbie enjoys writing and has always been artistic for as long as she can remember. After an early retirement, she decided to re-embrace her creativity. She loves to write poems and songs. She also enjoys painting, designing jewelry, making bird nests, crafting, cooking/baking and anything else that nourishes her creative side.
As a child, Debbie loved fairy-tales, so when she finally wrote a fairytale of her own, it was inspired and heartfelt.
Debbie is married and has two daughters, a son and to date, seven grandchildren. The journey leading up to her first book, "The Frog, the Mermaid, and the Fly", began after her grandchildren were born. She was inspired to begin writing when she started to realize that her son, who used to share childhood with his nieces and nephews, was quickly growing up. Debbie had the idea and desire to write and illustrate a children's picture book to remember the special time when her son and her grandchildren were kids together.
So here we have it, all seven grandchildren and her son, all as fictional characters in
"The Frog, the Mermaid and the Fly."
