An unexpected windfall enables POLLY to buy Mulberry Stables, a Livery Yard in the wilds of Wales, which enables her to leave HARRISON, her domineering husband of five years.
She persuades her best friend HEATHER to go with her, and joining forces with MIN, who runs the Yard, they tackle their new life eagerly.
However Polly soon discovers that life at the Mulberry Tree isn't all plain sailing and the rose tinted spectacles soon fall off.
She falls, quite literally, for SIENCYN, the local Vet, whose own problems include an ex-fiance who has forgotten the 'ex' part of their relationship and expects to take up where they left off.
Then there's the ghost on the landing to contend with, not to mention a big cat, reputed to be roaming the hills.
The odd mix of horse owners add their own complications and when Harrison shows up, demanding half the value of the property, the three girls face an uncertain future. After all they've worked for, they can't give up now. A plan is called for.
