I'd give this 3 1/2 stars only to the fact it took a really hard to get into and just seemed to go on forever and ever. don't get me wrong the words on the pages was great, it's getting the story out that took to long. I think not enough details where here in some areas and just enough in other areas to get the page turned all in all it worked out for the story. ***I received this story for free in exchange for an honest review, see more of my review @ ***

I loved this book! Nicholas was an alpha hero, but he wasn't afraid to share deep feelings. Isabel was a strong heroine and a perfect match for Nick. *sigh* Though this is part of a multi-author series, the books are related by the Zodiac theme so are stand alone reads.

The Prince’s Runaway Lover by Robin Covington’s is the seventh book in Men of the Zodiac series. Crown Prince Nicholas is forced into a life he never imagined for himself. He wasn’t a typical royal. He loved extreme sports, traveling the world and just being himself: free. And that all changed when his brother died and he was forced into running the country. And then he came across Isabel Reynold’s, a gardener by trade who was designing the palace gardens. She is running from a past and tries everything in her power to fight her attraction for Nick. Of course, that doesn’t happen as these two fall into a steamy relationship. And when her past catches up to them, can Nick fight off his advisers and turn their relationship into a happily ever after? The Prince’s Runaway Lover is one of those fairytale books. The prince finds the girl who doesn’t have the ‘royal’ upbringing I loved Nick and his desire to remain true to himself – not allowing royal protocol to change him. This is the first book that I’ve read in the series and I can’t wait to read the remainder of the books in the series. I highly recommend The Prince’s Runaway Lover and would like to disclose that I received a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

*** This ARC was received from Entangled Publishing via Netgalley in exchange for a honest review*** I like that he hasn't ever wanted to be king but is willing to do what needs to be done, but it has to be done his way. I like that she doesn't care that he's a prince and he doesn't care that she is not royal.

A really enjoyable read. You have Nick the unconventional prince who is forced to rule as king. His whole life is about turn upside down. Can he rule his people? Does he have what it takes? Coming home to Callanos he never expected Isabel. Isabel has some secrets of her own and wants to stay clear of the spotlight. Unfortunately for her she has gained the attention of a prince who goes after he wants. Nick won't give up on Isabel and his people, but when Isabel's secret comes out can he stand by her side even if it may cost him the crown? You feel for Nick he has so much to live up from how his father and brother ruled. The pressure is on then throw in Isabel into the mix things sure get interesting. Isabel has so much courage for what she had to do and survive. You just want these two souls find their HEA.

The Prince's Runaway Lover, The Men of the Zodiac Series,  Robin Covington Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre:  Romance. I’ve read and enjoyed a few of Robin’s novels, and as this was an Entangled Indulgence read I knew more or less what I’d be getting. A novel that was fun, a bit of spice, and a story I could just relax with and enjoy the ride ( !! and I did ) Sometimes I want paranormals, dark romance, or erotica and sometimes I just want to laze in the hammock, enjoy the sun and read something easy and light. What I read very much depends on my mood at the time. So, into this read, where I so felt for Nick. Brought up the second son, the spare heir unlikely to ever have to rule, he’s thrown into position by his brother’s death. He hasn’t time to really grieve either with responsibility and decisions forced on him before he can really absorb his brothers death. Throw in that a distant cousin is vying for the Crown and the politicians are hovering, waiting to see  which side is most likely to be successful, and the poor guy seems like his life has been totally upturned. No more daring stunts, no more casinos and the after parties with the ladies...Not only that but his advisors want him to rule in a way that he’s uncomfortable with. When he stumbles across Isabelle on one of his morning runs, and she doesn’t know who he is so treats him like anyone else no wonder he’s pleased to find her. Their friendship grows into something deeper but all the while she holds back, tells him she won’t be staying, but somehow they get closer and more entwined despite all the things keeping them apart, her issues, his position, the advisors determined to find him a politically correct Queen. Isabelle, well it was clear she was running from something huge, and running scared. Her background is full of mystery, but little by little parts of it come out and then....well, that was a real shock and exactly what Nick didn’t need. I could understand why she kept quiet but also understand why he felt she didn’t trust him enough to tell him. He was hurt and when we’re hurt we lash out. That gave for some real drama, though of course in the Indulgence imprint it’s aimed at happy more than tears and angst so its not too deep. I’d have liked more but that’s not what this collection is about, so I knew going in that it was unlikely that the drama would be drawn out to my desires. Its a fun read, easy to follow and with a real connection between Nick and Isabelle. I’d have liked a nice b itchy would-be Queen or two to add some jealousies but there isn’t. Only so much can go in a story I guess : –) Stars: Four, if you want a fun, light, summery read this is perfect. ARC supplied by Netgalley and publishers

What happens when the playboy prince meets the woman of his dreams working as a gardener on his estate? They are attracted and quickly fall in love. Unfortunately she is on the run from the Police. I loved this emotional romance. Isabel Reynolds is a strong woman who gave up all that she loves to escape injustice. Nicholas is a free spirit who lives for excitement and danger. Suddenly his life changes and he becomes king. Isabel is his rock. Even though their romance has little chance for success. they can't keep away from each other. They made a fantastic couple. When they are together, I could feel the love. I wanted them to have a HEA. I just wasn't sure how it could happen. She's a fugitive and he's in a fight to retain his crown. Robin Covington wrote a thoughtful romance. The glamorous setting combined with the snappy dialogue and a meddling Queen Mother were perfect. I was caught up in the glamour and the political intrigue of Callanos. This story was a nice change of pace. I loved it.

4.5 out of 5 Stars First of all, this is fiction. It is a wonderful romantic story, but let's remember, this is fiction. Having said that, prepare to escape to a kingdom in Europe somewhere, where the rich and powerful play in casinos and enjoy the best there is to be experienced. Yes, just like Monte Carlo. Nicholas is the "spare". He has lived his life mostly free of the responsibility of someday having to rule his country. Through a bitter twist of fate, he ends up being the heir to the throne. His life must change drastically or his family will lose their heritage. Meeting Isabel on the grounds of the palace, he is immediately taken by her beauty and self-determination. She is different from the women he has seduced all over the world. She is also forbidden fruit... she is not what would be deemed as a suitable partner for a soon to be king. This story is both delightful, poignant, and carrier of the lifelong message to follow your heart and do what is right. I read it in one sitting because I literally could not put it down. Loved it!

4.5 heartwarming stars What a good read The Prince's Runaway Lover turned out to be, loved it. Couldn't put it down, I read it in one sitting =) This was a modern day fairy-tale, the handsome Prince falling in love with the beautiful commoner girl. I loved how the relationship between Isabel and Nick developed, it was beautifully written, full of emotion and heart. Their chemistry was off the charts, they were passionate and you could feel their connection. Loved their banter and the way they interacted. It made it easy for me to connect with them and to fall in love with both Nick and Isabel. The Prince's Runaway Lover is a sweet, emotional and heartfelt read that will leave you with a smile on your face and a heart full of love. Once again Robin Covington has given us a wonderful and entertaining read, love her writing and can't wait for her next book. I highly recommend The Prince's Runaway Lover and the Men of Zodiac series. Each book can be read as a standalone.

Oh holy hotness of Princedom! This book started with a very hot sexy scene and set the mood for the entire book. I will have to re-read this one picturing Chris Evans after reading Robin's acknowledgements stating he was the inspiration for Nicholas. Oh that man is beautiful! And that little extra surprise she added to him in the book, oh momma mia, where is the fan! I loved the intensity of Nicholas' character, his drive to go after what he wanted. He was relentless in his pursuit of Isabel. She never stood a chance of resisting him. Their flirtatious banter in the beginning was very sweet, very funny and very much foreplay. They were pure magic even before they got together physically. This was truly a very sweet, spicy sexy hot, loving read that I devoured reading. I could not put it down once I started. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

This is one of those stories that is every girl’s dream. What little girl doesn’t want to marry a crown prince and be queen of a country? I know I did. This is pretty low on the heat scale which isn’t my thing but sometimes it can be refreshing to read something not entirely smut filled. Nick is a playboy crown prince of a small country and Isabel is a landscape designer who is on the run from her past in the US. Nick and Isabel’s relationship starts by accident as they run each morning. It gradually morphs into Nick seeking Isabel out to talk to her and they go on a couple adventures together. Book provided in exchange for review.

A wonderful modern day fairy tale! This story has multi-dimensional characters, a compelling plot, and lots of the heat and steam that is trademark Robin Covington, which makes this a truly wonderful read! Prince Nicholas never expected to be king, but when his brother is killed in an accident he must put his wanderlust and extreme sports behind him and take his place as the heir to the throne. It was easy to just think of him as a playboy and someone who lives for the moment (especially after that opening scene!), but after getting to know Nick it was so clear to see how deep the loss of his brother, who was his best friend, has impacted him. He’s struggling to come to terms with how to rule the country without the guidance of the two people he would normally go to – his father, who was king and is suffering from Alzheimer’s, and the brother he has lost. He knows he can never be the king his country deserves if he doesn’t rule from his heart, which causes issues with his advisors and leaves him open to challenge. Isabel is hiding. She’s keeping a pretty big secret and knows that her days working in the royal gardens are numbered. Her past has made her a fugitive, but after meeting Nick she starts to wish for more. She knows her secrets could spell disaster for Nick, but she’s been running for so long she just wants to pretend she can have more for a while. Although I didn’t agree with Isabel running, I did feel for the past she has had to endure. Nick and Isabel have such chemistry from their first encounter. There were definitely sparks, but there was something more between the two that you just couldn’t wait for them to explore. These two really saw each other, through the royal hype that surrounded Nick and the walls that Isabel had built to keep herself safe. And I loved the candor between the two. Even though Isabel was keeping secrets, she still was up front with Nick about not being the right person for him and the problems she could cause. The other characters in the book helped give additional depth and feel to the story. I really enjoyed Nick’s mother, she was also grieving, and not just the loss of her son, but also the loss of her husband who is suffering from Alzheimer’s and has very few good days. Seeing her watch over Nick and then ultimately give him the advice he needs to do the right thing was wonderful. Nick’s college friend was a great character as well, helping to keep Nick grounded and also offering advice to keep things real, but also supporting Nick while he struggled to define who he was as he stepped up to becoming king. This was a sweet and sexy read that had some drama and angst as well as some fun and magic. This is not your typical royal story, but had just enough of that storyline to bring the magic you would expect to surround a royal family. This would be a great addition to anyone’s TBR!

Sexy modern day fairy tale! Nick is not your typical prince - he has tattoos, a very interesting piercing and used to spend his time doing extreme sports and seducing women. But he gives up his playboy lifestyle when he is forced to take the crown. I love the way he pursues Isabel and the night he gives her at the private villa is super romantic. Isabel, however is keeping secrets that could cost them their relationship and his crown. She knows is best to not get involved with him, but can't seem to help herself. I have to admit that I teared up a bit when the situation comes to light, but Nick makes up for it at the end. I only wish it could have been longer so we could have had more of Nick and Isabel. I received an ARC from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, all conclusions are my own.

So far I've read four of the seven books in the Men of the Zodiac series and do not disappoint. I was impressed with The Prince's Runaway Lover, it was fresh and creative. When Crown Prince Nicholas Lytton receives the news that his brother has passed away, it is up to him now to take the throne as future king of Callanos. He was always known as the “spare to the heair,” and he loved it. His life was all about extreme sports, physical pleasures, and women. Now that has changed for him, as he has find himself surrounded by people that only see him as a playboy prince and not as the rightful king. Yet with having his schedule full of royal duties, he notices the new assistant that has been helping with the palace gardens. At first they met while taking a run, and the more they crossed paths, the more he wanted to know about her. It was then that he suddenly found a new interest in Isabel Reynolds, and he bow to find a way win her over. Isabel Reynolds has had a rough past, she ha been working at the palace gardens for a short time now and she has grown to love the new city that she is in. Her goal has always been to blend in and not attract too much attention to herself and her past, but her morning runs with the prince have her feeling giddy and confused. She knows that any type of relationship that she has with the future king has to be strictly business, but the minute he starts going to her little cottage, the more attracted to him she is starting to get. Soon she is starts to wonder if settling in Callanos is a good idea or one that is going to lead to disaster especially if the prince doesn't give up his advances towards her. From the very beginning it is evident that Isabel and Nick are attracted towards each other. They have an instant chemistry that grows throughout the story and soon they can't seem to keep their hands off each other. I really liked both of the characters, from the start we get the sense that Isabel has been hiding something big and she can't stop thinking about the consequences that it might bring to her the minute Nick finds out. As the two start to get to know each other, the secrets that Isabel is hiding come in between their relationship as well as Nick's pressures that come with becoming king. Overall the story is about overcoming the past and learning how to let go in order to move on. The characters had to face struggles to be together in the end, and that is what made the story that much more interesting and enjoyable to read. I highly recommend this story as well as the rest of the books in the series. ;) ***ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.***

I loved this delightfully charming tale of a Reluctant Hero and his Cinderella. Crown Prince Nicholas Lytton was an Olympic triathlete and extreme sports enthusiast. He traveled all over the world representing the country he loved and bringing home medals. He was free of the trappings of being King because that was the job for his older brother. Until his brother was tragically killed in a plane crash and he was forced to return home to take the throne and lead his people. He was not like his father or brother. He was not diplomatic and he always spoke his mind, never playing games. His advisors and parliament had as hard a time adjusting to him as he did to his new job. This led to some dissension and questioning if he was fit to rule. To get some of the freedom he craved he would run on the palace grounds early in the morning. This is where he met an unexpected running partner. She was a beautiful, athletic runner who did not let him win because he was the King. They never talked, but he enjoyed their encounters and became intrigued with this mysterious woman. Isabel worked on the palace grounds as an assistant gardener. She was sweet, caring, free spirited yet strong. She was from the US and had many secrets that Nick wanted to uncover. The more he pushed the more closed she would become. Nick was a world competitor and would not be deterred, he always got what he wanted. I really loved Nick and Isabel. Their relationship was sweet and romantic but their chemistry was explosive. I really liked the banter between Nick and his close friend Chris along with the dynamic between Nick and his mother. These scenes added even more depth to all of the characters. I think the suspense and mystery with Isabel's past was intriguing and I wanted to learn more, which kept me turning the pages. Will Isabel's secrets threaten Nick's throne? Will Nick be able to win Isabel and find his own path as King to the country he loves? The pacing of the story was good along with a few surprises making this a very fun and exciting read! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review that did not influence how much I truly enjoyed this book. :)

Prince Nicolas is the spare to the throne of his beloved country of Callanos. He has never had the desire to be king, not with his brother Alec being the heir. When tragedy strikes and throws his world upside down, now Nick is being prepped to become king and he isn't sure he wants it. With some people against him, he wonders if should just step aside. Then while running early one morning, he is joined by a young woman. They never speak and when she finally outruns him, the smile on her face is priceless. He is drawn to her and he wants her in the worst way. And he wants to get to know her better. She is Isabel Reynolds, assistant to the gardener. Someone he should stay away from. She will not be staying long, as she doesn't want her past to catch up with her. Will Isabel leave before her past catches her and before her heart takes over? Can Prince Nicky make her see that she has a life there and with him? I fell for Nicky in the very beginning and loved him through it all. There will be tears, laughter, heartfelt pain and wonder while reading this one, but Robin has the best way of telling a story to keep you reading until the very end. This one is a must read as is all of Robin Covington's other stories. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**

Crown Prince Nicholas of Callanos was never supposed to be the ruler of his country. He was the spare to the heir. Then his brother and sister-in-law were tragically killed. Nicky never wanted to be a ruler. He is an adventure seeking playboy. He becomes intrigued with the assistant gardener Isabel who meets up with him every day for a run. She's harboring secrets and feels she can never be serious with Nick, until they fall in love. Such a hot read with a fantastic story.

Sweet and hot, it will have you smiling This was a Cinderella meets Prince Charming story if Cinderella was a fugitive and Prince Charming was a hot, tattooed, triathlon medalist with his man junk pierced before ascending the throne. Yes ladies, there’s a piercing involved, and Prince Nick really knows how to use it This story was sweet and hot. There were not many surprises but it was a really nice read. Nick is about to be appointed King by family circumstances, not that he ever wanted to be King, really, and after he dedicated his time to extreme sports, a fast life and women falling at the bat of an eyelash, most everyone in the country doesn’t see him as ready to take on the responsibility. Isabel is happy working in the palace gardens and being otherwise invisible. Not as much a chosen lifestyle but out of necessity as she is running from something in her past. This time though, running is on her side, as beating Crown Prince Nicholas on his morning run put her firmly on his sights. He is the charming, smooth yet caring guy she always dreamed about. She is a breath of fresh air, not just for her beauty but by her substance and character. Not being impressed by a title is another thing that makes Isabel so special. The rest, you can figure out… as I said, the plot twists are pretty predictable, but it was a very enjoyable read, quite hot (don’t forget the piercing) and it had me smiling. *I received a complimentary copy from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review*

This story was a refreshing change of pace for me, and something a little out of my reading comfort zone. I normally steer clear of stories involving royalty, and have struggled in the past to find interest in stories of this nature, but I'm happy to say I'm glad I veered off course and gave this story a try. I knew going into the story that I normally really enjoy Ms. Covington's writing style, and usually don't have any trouble getting interested in her story lines, so I had faith her story would win me over and it totally did. I was immediately pulled into the story, it was highly addictive, so much so, I ended up pulling a late night read-fest and reading the whole book in one sitting. Nick and Isabel had amazing chemistry, and it was clear from the start that they were meant to be together, however, the rode getting there was very challenging for them. I thoroughly enjoyed reading their story and would love to see Ms. Covington write a update to their story! I highly recommend you acquaint yourself with the tantalizing Prince Nicholas....he will have you wishing you could be his Queen!

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the story and the pace of the book. Lots of intrigue, lots of lusting, lots of conflict. Good! The only things that confused me is that I was picturing the model on the cover as the prince, but in the book, he is described as a blonde. It kinda threw me off. If the character is blonde, the model should be too. And, I also didn't like the fact that Isabel called him Nicky. Nick is an awesome, masculine name but she made it feminine by calling him Nicky. That bugged me. But other than that, great story! *I was sent this book by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

A modern day fairy tale of Cinderella. Prince Nick, leads a carefree life until tragedy strikes his family and he needs to step up to be the coronated king. He strikes a friendship up with Isabel, the gardener. Isabel has secrets that could destroy Nick. Nick needs to find a queen, could Isabel be the one. This book will hook in you in from the first page and not let you go until the last. I love Robin Covington's books. Great characters!

A modern Cinderella story with a twist. It is wonderfully written with characters you can't help but love. Who wouldn't love a sexy, handsome, reluctant prince that doesn't act like royalty? Very refreshing. The chemistry between Nick and Isabel is electric. This is a sweet, feel good story that will have you yearning for more. I would love to see more of Nick and Isabel perhaps in a story of Nick's friend Chris' HEA. ARC received from the author in exchange for an honest review.
