The prophesy must be fulfilled.

His orders are clear: launch a raid against England and bring home the spoils of war. But the prophecy is also clear: General Torben will take a foreign bride—one who is a seer and healer just like his mother. The eldest princess of England is said to be just that…a beautiful, charming, and headstrong woman. But he's a Viking army general and she's an English princess—and one who is already promised to the king of Tara.

Two worlds collide in this epic historical fiction centered on an undeniable chemistry that smolders against the odds. Richly written and injected with moments of humor, this action-packed romantic tale will leave you breathless.

Full of abuse. The main protagonist is constantly abused and molested. The story doesn't even come close to some of the other great books the author has produced.Very disappointed!

I have purchased every single one of Quinn's books, and have loved each one! At first I was skeptical about this new book, but it didn't take long before I could not put it down. Now I can't wait for the next in the series to come out! Buy it! Read it! You won't regret it!!

This book has definitely lived up to the standard of Quinn’s books. I love reading her stories and laughing and crying with the characters. Can’t wait to see what comes next in all of her story lines.

Quinn once again has created characters to love and hate. With multiple layers, cultures, and talents there isn't a chapter that lags.

Quinn was true to her writing in this book. Great love story and I look forward to the next chapter of Torben and Allete.

I have read all of Quinn Loftis’s books and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this book as well. It had abuse and some violence, but they’re Vikings! That’s what they do! The love story between Torben and Allete is slow to start, but it builds it which I like. The relationship between Dayna and Brant is hilarious because of the bickering and back and forth between them. Excited to see where their story takes them!

Such a boring read and dialect doesn't feel true to the period.

Just needed the story to end after he saved the girls and killed the villains. Then move on to the little Sister's story.

The characters are always funny and quick witted.

The book was a decsnt storyline, however the characters came across as too stereotypical: martyr princess, caveman viking and wicked villain. I was at four stars for the Oracle storyline, but then dropped to three when I realized it was a cliffhangar.

I very much enjoyed the plot and the character development. I found it a very intriguing storyline. The only real issue I had was that I feel like a lot of the dialogue, and especially the character's thoughts, used vocabulary that wasn't accurate to the time period. There was a point when the word cell was used in relation to cells of the body, and my dictionary says that the origin of the word is 1933. However, I think that by using more contemporary language, it could make the book more approachable. Even with the too contemporary language, I still very much enjoyed the book, and am sad I need to wait for the next one.

Amazing story from the fabulous storyteller Quinn Lotus.

While this reads more fantasy than historical fiction, The Viking's Chosen features a delightful and colorful cast of characters. The story primarily takes place in England, though I wasn't sure which time period. Still this didn't detract from an engaging plot and unconventional trio of princesses. The Viking marauders aren't what you'd expect them to be either, more noble and honorable than the people they've come to invade. While events in this historical fantasy didn't play like I expected, I enjoyed the banter between Torben and Alette and the way Loftis infused their world with magic.

Review coming soon.Viking rawness and strength collides with all the pomp of the English courts in a mix of adventure, intrigue, fate and even a touch of magic. Torben is respected and feared by his folk, but as a leading general he's more than aware of his King's growing madness, which has them soon on a risky mission to invade a part of England. To make matters more difficult, his mother, the town's Oracle, expects him to fulfill her vision and mate with an English woman. The idea of taking a foreign bride cuts his pride, but that is the least of the problems. Tara, the one he is seen to wed, is an English princess about to be married to a very powerful king, and the lives of those in her kingdom are hanging on the joining. And she's not about to let down her own people. I was really looking forward to this book and was not disappointed. The author does a fantastic job at bringing both worlds to life. The vikings are as rugged as expected, and the English court is as regulated, proper and yet harsh in its own right. This does not have the flair of a light fairy tale, but sticks to a more historical atmosphere and doesn't fall into the trap of making life more grand than it was. Still, this is an adventure with a touch of magic and lore. The oracle carries all of the mystery and harshness of a witch. She's got a warm heart buried in there somewhere, but is a result of her rough circumstances. The entire viking tribe is that way. . .even when the men break down to a little joking and humor. Which makes Torben a force not to oversee. He's rugged and crude, yet intelligent, ethical and wise. He's a true viking hero to root for. Tara is not a spoiled princess but has matured and understands her position very well. She's tough but knows her place, and will live up to what is expected of her and her rank. Sometimes, she comes across a little weak and her decisions misguided. But she does fit the era well for the role she plays. This was one of those books I didn't want to put down. The action rolls from page one all the way through. New problems constantly arrive, and the obstacles grow seemingly insurmountable and heart-wrenching to guarantee high tension to the last page. But the tension doesn't end there. Rather, this has an open end, which makes it hard to wait for book two to find out what happens next. And I do want to know that. The romance is a wonderful push and shove with snarky wit built in. Both parties are not willing, although there is a spark of 'love at first site'. The oracle's predicted makes the direction of romantic tension clear, but there's enough intrigue and evil on the side to make it clear that vision or not, it's going to be a ruthless fight for both of them. Especially with a villain as evil as the one in this book. In other words, its a fast-paced, exciting read for viking fans or those who love old England stories of royal intrigue, and all with a touch of magical fantasy. I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed it enough to want to leave my honest thoughts.

When you pick up a Quinn Loftis book prepare to be dazzled! She writes books that keep you captivated with humor, deep respect for intimacy in a marriage bond, and finding a partner who is your equal in every way! The Viking’s Chosen is no exception! I skipped a class just to finish it! I’m just bummed that I have to wait 8 months for the next book! Torben and Allete couldn’t come from more different worlds! They both will do whatever is best for their kingdom. Both don’t like what is necessary to achieve that! Torben’s mother is an Oracle who prophesied that Torben needs to kill his jarl (think King) and marry a foreign princess to help his clan from becoming extinct with jarl Magnus’s blood thirsty ways and insanity. And how is he to marry a princess who is already engaged to a King from another kingdom? This King Cathal is pure evil and is constantly putting Princess Allete down, putting her in her place and physically abusing her in places no one else can see. But Torben and his second in command Brant witnesses plenty of it. Torben and Brant are given a glamor to look like English guards and are assigned to the Princess. Torben and Allete find themselves falling for each other. Allete thinks he is just a guard and is still off limits for any future with him. Torben can do little to the evil King without being hanged himself for treason or causing Allete’s family to suffer with the veiled threats if she should try to get away. There is non stop action and adventure and time to find that they have a lot in common and to watch Torben, the hulking Viking as he is, to be very tender with Allete! You can’t help but sigh when you read when the two of them are alone together. There is only kissing between the two of them when they are alone, which is never that long. Or he is brushing her hair and cleaning her up after King Cathal has had his hands on her. See, Sigh!!!!!! Allete is also a healer, like Torben’s mother, and people don’t really like to see the magic because they are afraid. So Allete heals people in secret. Those she heals, loves her for it. Brant keeps me grinning, he is funny and a very hulking Viking who likes to wield his hammer! He likes Allete’s sister Dayna. Dayna has a slightly foul mouth and opens her mouth before she speaks and Brant loves it. Her words are “arse”, “bloody hell” and the like. I can’t wait to see where these two go too! If you like stories that leave on a cliff hanger, Viking’s, Kingdoms, good vs. evil, action, finding your soulmate, healing, magic, Oracles, stories that make you sigh then this might be for you! I really need the next book now! I will be rereading this book over and over!! Well, probably the whole series too!

pooled ink Reviews: THE VIKING'S CHOSEN is the start to a romantic and battle-filled journey of hidden magic, warring kingdoms, and courage to forge a path of brighter light than what the world would have one believe. A princess who will not be broken, a Viking who would die for her, and a lecherous king carving their names in promised blood, this series is a perfect read for those who enjoy slipping into another time, another life. It had a few issues for me but overall it was a quick and fun read that I certainly enjoyed reading in the thawing sunlight of early spring. **Read the full review on Wordpress: Pooled Ink

Torben is a warrior and general in the Viking clan Hakon. The leader of the Hakon is obsessed with warring even at the detriment of his clan. Torben, against his better judgements goes with the leaders newest plot to attack a kingdom in England during prenuptials between 2 kingdoms. Allete is the eldest daughter and the bride to be, of the one of the kingdoms in England, that Torben’s clan is invading. Torben and his men are sent in to impersonate on of Allete’s guards. This is where the chemistry sizzles between Allete and Torben. Did I mention that Torben is prophesized to take a foreign bride and rule his people? The banter is fun between Torben, his men, Allete and her family. Allete family is also full of strong woman … I didn’t really get Allete even considering a life with her horribly arranged marriage to King Cathal. Ending in a cliffhanger, leaving us wondering the fate of Allete’s family, the kingdom, and even Torben… leaving us wonder what is coming next. Full of action, witty banter and sizzling chemistry, The Viking’s Chosen is a the new Clan Hakon series from Quinn Loftis. I received this copy of The Viking's Chosen from Xpresso Book Tours. This is my honest and voluntary review.
