As I read this book for the first time to my children, I caught myself laughing out loud. This is a wonderful book and one certainly worthy of it's place by my children's bedside.

Like many others, I bought this book because I saw the video of the grandmother laughing hysterically as she read the book to her grandchild. Take 20% off coupons from 100promo.com

There isn¿t a whole lot one would expect to see when looking at a donkey, but such is not the case with this picture book. There is a lot of tongue-twisting, long-winded, catch-phrasing going on in this story. It all happens when a little yellow bird just happens to be sitting on an old fence post by the side of the road and sees a donkey hobbling along. The bird notices that the donkey has some very interesting things about him, he's missing a leg and an eye to name a few. The little yellow bird just keeps adding these interesting qualities and it¿s quite interesting to see if you have enough breath to say them all.Water color illustrations bring donkey and bird to life. The readers in the age range of 5 to 9 yrs will get a close and personal view of the donkeys many attributes. Teachers and parents will enjoy this picture book as much as children. The quirky lyrics will make everyone giggle. Children will learn a new song that can be downloaded from the Scholastic website. This book is very interactive and helps children understand that we are all different and that¿s not a bad thing.

I usually buy books that are more "bed time" in nature for my twin four year old grandsons, but the name and the good rating captivated me. Well, we all were laughing hysterically by page 3 and could not wait for the next page to see what was coming next. I am talking flat out belly laughs. The boys were trying to chant all of the repeating descriptions, but were laughing too hard. The best part is the ending which instructs that different is OK; it is who you are as a "person" that matters. Maybe not for bedtime, but I can't imagine who will not enjoy this book and its subtly delivered message.

The Wonky Donkey was a big hit when I shared it with a group of adults attending a city meeting. Lots of laughs! It also led to interest in purchasing copies to share with other adults and with children.

I am told this is a wonderful book, but actually I did not order it. Someone hacked my account and used my credit card to purchase it which B&N knew. So sad, but thank you for refunding me.

After seeing a youtube video of someone reading this book in laughter, I bought the book for myself to see if I could red it out loud without laughing. I failed miserably. I will buy some more for my friends with children for Christmas. A good read to laugh out loud :)

I laughed all the way through this book. I am giving both of my granddaughters it to add to their library. I liked that it showed a not so perfect donkey so that I can explain that everyone and everything is their own unique person or in this case animal.
