About the Author
Barry G. Grossman, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who specializes in assessment and intervention for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. He received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University and provides assessment and consultation services in public schools as well as staff development. Barry is an author and speaks nationally. He co-created the Ziggurat Model, which has been adopted at district and statewide levels.
Gary B. Mesibov, Ph.D., is the director of Division TEACCH at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Mesibov received his Ph.D. from Brandeis University and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He is also a licensed psychologist in the state of North Carolina. Dr. Mesibov's current editorial appointments include editor of the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders and membership on the editorial boards of the Journal of Clinical Child Psychology and the Journal of Pediatric Psychology. He has written numerous books, journal publications, book reviews, editorials, chapters, and research papers dealing with all aspects of autism and developmental disabilities. Dr. Mesibov has received several prestigious awards, including an honorary degree from the University of Mons in Belgium and the Emily & Frank Puzio award from the Eden Institute’s Princeton Lecture Series. He speaks extensively both nationally and internationally.
