My daughters were so excited using these at their Girl Scout camp (they said it was better than archery) that I went and bought two of these from Barnes and Noble. They continued to play with them happily and the projects are easy to follow. I am sorry to say that their production control is not up to par. I bought two of them and so far, both of them had issues with their simple components. One of their motors' polarity was switched and the in other twin's kit the diode doesn't work. The motor polarity labeling is an easy fix, but its annoying that she can't follow per the drawing. I think I could open up the diode, but I might crack the plastic. Other than quality control, I think the product is pretty good. I gave it just good instead of very good because of that. My girls are seven going on eight and were excited to play with the "toy" once I brought it home. I will try to go back to Barnes and Noble to just get the diode replaced, but we'll see how accommodating they will be.

My daughter LOVED this. She is 8 and played with this non-stop for days. She takes it to her friend's houses for sleepovers. She was able to do all of the activities herself and loved the variety. I am buying her the bigger set as well. Highly recommended!

I gave the more elaborate edition of this to my 9 year old daughter for Christmas and she and her 11 year old sister spent hours making all sorts of different connections: alarms, lights, fans, etc. I ordered this more limited set for a 9 yr old girl's bday party. I thought that once the party was over and she got bored one day she might open it and have some fun with this set since it's not what is in her typical area of interest. But my daughter reported that it was the only gift they played with at the bday party and ALL of the girls loved it! I was thrilled to have provided both a "thinking" and creative gift!

I gave to my my Grand-son, and he was able to use it right away, after only help with the first three circuits. If the child can read and follow directions, all you have to do is show them how to read the drawings, and they can surprise and impress their family. For his birthday, he is definitely getting an add-on advanced package.

I can't say much for the actual toy. When my daughter opened it after Christmas, one of the snaps wasn't attached to the circuit. Without that one single piece, she couldn't do much with it. I'll be exchanging it and hopefully everything is securely in place. I'm sure it's awesome, but opening it and seeing the snap loose in the box and not being able to reattach it without soldering it, was pretty disappointing.

One of my grandsons had this toy and I had the opportunity to watch him play with it. I found it intriguing. There were so many options. I ordered one for another grandson that I thought would also love it and have great fun experimenting. It's a Christmas gift, so shhhhhh.

For me, this was a fun but educational toy that helped teach me about opened and closed circuits.

Bought for a seven year old boy, but his teenage brother & sister are enjoying it too. It's both educational and entertaining!

We did the Holidays a bit early this year... When my nephew opened this box, he ignored all the others. The directions were a "snap" to follow, and he made over 5 of the circuits very quickly. He is the minimum age requirement of 8, but don't let that fool you... Were my grandfather still alive, this would be his gift this year! I may even purchase another one for my father!
