Thrilling, witty, and oh-so-sexy, Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau novel brings together a beautiful Immortal and the man who is her destiny…

For someone who’s been around for over a hundred and forty years, immortal Elspeth Argeneau hasn’t done a whole lot of living. Now that she’s moved away from her controlling mother, she’s tracking down rogue vampires and enjoying some overdue freedom. A fling would be fun. A life mate can wait. Yet to Elspeth’s surprise, her landlady’s hot grandson checks both boxes.

Wyatt fell instantly in love with Elspeth four years ago. He’s stunned to run into her again, especially as she has no memory of him. Then again, there are a lot of things about Elspeth that don’t make sense, like the miraculous speed with which her wounds heal. And the chemistry that transforms every touch into an explosion of desire. But with mysterious “accidents” besieging Elspeth, the ex-Special Forces soldier appoints himself her bodyguard. But time is running out to uncover the truth about her enemies—and rediscover the man determined to love her for eternity.

Elsbeth is 142 years old and her mother still controls everything she does as well as her sisters. Elsbeth actually has to sneak out of England in order to get away from her controlling mother. She goes to Canada to teach but until the term starts she’s helping her uncle at the rogue hunters headquarters. She is on her way home to her apartment and decides to stop and check out a soft call. Unfortunately the man who is beating his wife hides behind the door and stabs her in the back and leg doing a great deal of damage. She just wants to fall into bed and tries when she gets to her apartment but there’s someone in her bed. Imagine her shock when it turns out to be the twin sisters which means her mother is there too. OMG! She is having the worst night of her life! That’s how the book begins but rapidly picks up speed. Full of action, several surprising twists and of course spicy lifemate behavior. Warning this one is really hard to put down.

I love Lynsay Sands books every book is just as good as the first one. A lot of times books in a series lose quality as there get to be too many, but hers are just as good every time. She pulls you in and you can't put that book down until you're finished. Thank you for a great read I loved it! I can't wait for the next one.

I feel like the series has recovered. The last few books were not up to the task. I have found new reasons to move onward (I would read the next one even if I hated this one). I fell for Elspeth/El all the way. She was more and less all at the same time. Wyatt was a man all the way, but he had something extra. He could understand a woman. He was sexy, hot, confident, and understanding. I think my favorite parts was that we get some new Argeneau blood to be excited about and watch fall in love, get lost in mystery/suspense, dragged through drama, and find that this world can be good and bad all at the same time.

I love Lynsay Sands, and the world she weaves is just getting better and better. Twice bitten is the 27th book in her Argeneau Series. Like her other books, Twice Bitten is fabulous. Even if you haven’t read the previous books you won’t be lost. This can be read as a complete standalone. Lynsay Sands has a real talent for making you fall in love with previous characters who pop up in later books. And in this newest installment our two MC’s, Elspeth and Wyatt, are sure to keep you smiling. Elspeth’s a vampire who is desperate to get away from her overbearing, controlling mother Martine. Martine has the powerful ability to completely take away someone’s free will. After loosing a husband and children in her past she’s driven to protect her daughters at all costs. If that means taking over Elspeth’s ability to make her own decisions and live her own life, then so be it. But after over a century of being controlled by her mother, Elspeth’s had enough so she finds a way to run from her home in England straight to Canada. She moves into an apartment and quickly becomes friends with her elderly landlady. Elspeth is settling into her life and enjoying her newfound independence. But it’s not destined to last. To Elspeth’s dismay, Martine shows up on her doorstep with her two sisters in tow! On top of that, Elspeth has stumbled into a situation that will put her in extreme danger. She just doesn’t now the extent yet… Wyatt is visiting his grandmother, who happens to be Elspeths’s landlady. He’s stunned when the women he’s never been able to forget walks in; but what the heck!? She doesn’t seem to remember who he is, even though he can’t forget her. I loved Wyatt. He’s thoughtful, kind and protective. His faith in what he feels for Elspeth is absolute. When Elspeth finds herself in danger from an unknown foe, Wyatt doesn’t hesitate to become her bodyguard and protect her at all costs. Though Wyatt is being quickly introduced to this new world of paranormal beings he seems to take it in stride. He also doesn’t let that deter him from his dedication to Elspeth or his determination to be a permanent part of her life. Elspeth is also a wonderful character. She’s empathetic, strong, level headed and willing to talk things through. But when she finds out how far her mother has gone to manipulate her she’s had enough! She refuses to let life threatening danger and her mothers need to control get in the way of how she lives her life :) With the support of Wyatt, her friends and family she’s putting her foot down! Lynsay Sands has a great talent for matching her characters personalities. It makes the romance more believable. And for me, part of the success behind the Argeneau series is the outstanding mix of romance, mystery and the importance of family. Obviously, 27 books later, it’s a formula that works! The only reason I’m giving a 4.5 instead of 5 stars is because it felt like Wyatt was taking his introduction into the paranormal world a little bit too much in stride. But no biggy. This book is perfect for those looking for a humorous, low angst paranormal romance with some mystery and crazy loveable characters thrown in. I can’t wait for number 28! I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via Edelweiss+. This review was voluntary a

Twice Bitten reintroduces us to some of the characters from earlier in the series (don’t worry if you haven’t read them) and gives us Elspeth’s story. Elspeth has run away from home. She is 142 years old dammit she should be allowed to be on her own. She has been in Canada for six whole weeks on her own when mommy dearest shows up. Poor Elspeth, in this story she gets stabbed, run over by a car, her home gets torched, there is an attempted poisoning, she gets kidnapped and worst of all she learns of the amount of betrayal done to her by her own mother. To balance that out she meets Wyatt, again and reunites with old friends and family that help her break free and move on. This story is what keeps me buying everything Lynsay Sands writes. There is humor, love, great characters and a terrific story. Looking forward to the next installment.

Twice Bitten by Lynsay Sands is book 27 in the Argeneau series. This is the story of Elspeth Argeneau and Wyatt MacKay. This can easily be a standalone book. Elspeth is part of the Argeneau family and even if she is a 140 year old vampire she has lived a somewhat shelter life but always a controlling one by her mother. Elspeth mother had taken the lost of her family hard and became obsessed with keeping Elspeth save and in her control. But Elspeth became free of her mother but knows she will come back to try to take control of her again. So in the meantime Elspeth is enjoying freedom and not planning on doing any commitments other than helping her Vampire group. But then she meets Wyatt who she finds attractive but it also seems he may be her life mate...which is a big commitment. Along with that there have been accidents happening to her also. Wyatt met Elspeth a few years back and fell in love with her but she has no memory of their meeting. I so enjoyed watching Wyatt and Elspeth story come together! Ms. Sands writing is always so great and is a must read for sure!

I love this series and this book was no exception! I hope this series never ends!!! I could not stop reading!!! Elspeth had is rough. First and most importantly her mother. Damn, and we all thought our moms were bad growing up. Then having to deal with attempts on her life. As well as meeting her Life mate. What a whirlwind! *I received my copy from edelweiss in exchange for an honest review
