From the inexplicable mysteries of the self, to the all too obvious threat of war and environmental disaster...

This is the spreadsheet of subject matter tackled in a dramatic volume of poems, prose and prosody, by internationally renowned artist and illustrator, Terry Oakes.

Including twelve stunning pieces of black and white artwork by the author, WELCOME - through verse, fiction and metaphor - is a powerful and original attempt to confront our doubts and fears - even indifference - to a fast approaching age of ultra superficiality, uncertainty and angst.

About the Author

Terry Oakes was born - and still lives - in Merthyr Tydfil, a post-industrial town in South Wales. Better known, for over two decades, as a book jacket and album cover illustrator - his work adorning novels ranging from the modern horror of Stephen King to the majestic sci-fi epics of Frank Herbert, alongside artwork for music recordings by artists as diverse as prog-rockers, Hawkwind, and punk performers, The Exploited - this is his second venture into self-expression via the written word, explored not only through the more conventional avenue of prose, but also through the lyricism of verse.

Previous work: The Murder Men: a violent novel set in the world of organised crime.
