"Whispers From A Mother's Soul" is Nonnie Simon's first book of poetry. Beautifully written, this captures unique peeks into everyday life as a wife, mother and grandmother. Nonnie is the mother of three adult daughters and the grandmother of six, all have provided inspiration for this work. As in life, some of the poetry is filled with joy and wonderment and some is filled with deep sorrow and fear for the future. The author does not hide the family crumbs under the carpet and she deals openly with a child that battled with addiction and won that battle. Nonnie also talks candidly about her Journey with God, starting life as a Catholic and along the way, she found herself drawn deeply to Judaism. Whether it's a poem about her high school sweetheart, who is her husband of almost thirty eight years, or celebrating the joy of being a grandparent, or the deep rooted fear for an adult child who hasn't found their way, or the search for The Divine, there is something in this book for everyone. It deals with life, every day life, in all its joy and beauty and sometimes in quagmires of deep sadness.
