About the Author

Having lived his early childhood during communism, Arianit (Nitti) Shehu spent his student years in fighting the oppression and the evils that the communism brought to him and to his nation. With the fall of the Berlin W- all, Nitti joined the student protests leadership in Eastern Europe in early 90s, which reshaped Europe, and he lived the next 12 years of his life opposing and rejecting the apartheid regime and the bloody civil war that ripped his country Kosovo apart. Brutally expelled from his homeland and in efforts to survive Milosevics genocide against Albanians in Kosovo, Nitti sought- security in the refugee camps in the neighboring Macedonia. Dodging sniper bullets and having to carry his critically wounded twin brother to safety, Nitti can tell everything about the horrors of the war and the pains of injustice. It is in the refugee camps in Macedonia where Nitti learned what it felt being stripped from everything that you owe and from what you hold dear, your home, your family, your land, and even your nation. In the refugee camps Nitti started working with the LA Times and later joined the NATO forces in Kosovo as their chief media analyst.

For the past 15 years Nitti is a recognizable name and the author of many new and innovative international programs on human rights, democracy, political strategies and political reform processes in developing countries, which have brought hope and belief for a better life to millions of people. During his rich and successful career, Nitti has provided briefings and political analysis for top US, EU and other government senior political and military officials, leading diplomats, statesmen, and Kings. It is Nittis unique life story and his life experience, from having to live through darkness of communism, the horrors of civil war and destruction, and then working around the World to instill among millions a desire for life, human dignity and integrity, that Nitti wants to share through this unique book.
